Me vs TSD vs NM

Night Maintenance or Time Space Distortion, and why?

No I will NOT accept the reason "because it is too expensive and more cost effective"

I am trying to find the best possible choice for a card, not the cheapest.

I personally like the SURE, and reliable use of NM over TSD, plus without Chimcheo d and the holon engine, or farmer anymore putting the energy back in can be really helpful more then people think.

Plus 3 for 1, CONSISTANTLY or possible 1 for 1 or 2 for 1 on average?

You just get more with NM

Arguements?

I think it really depends on the build of your deck and whether or not you can easily get back what Night Maintenance puts in. I prefer Night Maintenance unless I need more retrieval support -- then I go with 1 Night Maintenance and 1 Time-Space Distortion. The flips of TSD have both helped and hurt me, but I get what I need right when I need it.

Well, since we can't say that Night Maintenance is more cost effective...

Personally, if you can afford TSD and only use it for getting Pokemon back, go with it. If you don't mind having to shuffle the Pokemon back into the deck along with a Basic Energy or two (something TSD can't do), go with Night Maintenance.

It is very dependent on the deck, whether TSD or NM is best. In a deck heavy on Pokesearch, NM works better but one TSD is nice to have as an emergency trump card in the late game.

My current deck runs 2 NM, 1 TSD.

NM is better in most deck, but decks like Krick need TSD to get the Pokemon on the same turn, from testing you usually have a Celios or something to get the Pokemon you shuffle with NM

Both are good.. but yeah it depends on the deck, like my Infernape deck would probably drop NM in favour of TSD entirely because it shuffles so much Energy back in anyway... maybe keep 1 NM for security but other than that it seems inferior for that deck.

But of course after four boxes I still don't own one yet...

IMO the best one for most decks is TSD because the results are instant. But in decks that use fearow or queen the NM is definatly a lot better because to do get the asap

NM is for later really, and can get NRgs needed TMD is for a quick grab, either or is nice but the flipping part may hurt u

if the deck runs nidoqueen d i'd never run TSD. night maintenance ever.

most decks runs n.m, but some fast decks such as Quicktune or blissey could run TSD.

If you're playing lv Xs, then TSD all the way. Otherwise, theres usually not a rush to get pokes back (unless your deck isn't consistant enough), so NM would probly be better.

Decks that rely on speed and pressure will have more use for TSD over Night Maintenence almost every time, while decks that take a slower set up approach can easily get by with NM and search cards to retrieve what was shuffled back into the deck.

A clear cut example on why TSD is a better card is Lucario Lvl X. Assuming you play a 4-3-1 Lucario line (as most do) and you know you are playing 2-3 TSD you will have almost no fear in dropping the Lucario Lvl X early in the game knowing that even 1 heads will allow you to slap Lucario Lvl X on the next Lucario you get set up. Two heads allows you to get a Lucario back as well making your extra Riolu not just there for extra starter consistancy.

On the other side Night Maintenence always gets you 3 cards, can get energy back, and shuffles them into your deck (which is important if you are running low on cards). Kricketune decks can put TSD to very good use, but they can also easily use NM and Great Ball + Quick Ball to get the cards they need when they need them, and that's without using a supporter like Celio's or Holon Mentor. Decks with built in searchers (Nidoqueen, Meg d, Fearow d) might prefer NM over TSD because you usually will recycle more cards than with TSD.
