Crystal Beach

I'd say Crystal Beach is pretty dang awesome. Look at how many troubles it can give the early game Blissey by stopping the boosts. Then you got Empoleon with Scramble, Failtune with DRE, Delta decks with Casty, they all get stopped by Crystal Beach. Why not run them? After all, if they can't play their quick powerups, you get the advantage with your so-called "Slow" energy set-up.

Yeah, a windstorm reference. Pretty much every deck has them. Crystal Beach is a GREAT card, but it doesnt work in too many decks. Nor does it destroy the opponent completely.

Empo and Tune doesn't play those.

Not only that, but even playing another Stadium will get rid of it, too, despite them getting a little uncommon these days. Scott it up.

i havent been seeing many windstorms bieng played.
either most decks have cessation crystal or most decks have the advantage without their power against the decks that do run cessation.
the most ive seen a windstorm at in a deck this season is 2.

windstortms usually come in 3's, everyone seems to think 4 is overkill.

Dragonite EX δ and crystal Beach are the play. I feel everyone is going to be stock piling up on Dragonite EX's midway through cities!!!
Dragonite EX δ is such a smart play right now.*looks at the whole 9 lists invloving Dragonite EX δ*

I've seen a few builds of Kricketune/Mario/etc run 2 BF a long with 4 Cessation Crystal, but I would say running 4 Crystal Beach would be great against the decks. I don't know useful it would be against Kricketune since it can easily pay for it's attacks with grass energy, and one of my good friends Brian L. runs his Kricketune (K-Vegas) with Crystal Beach in it. In that matchup, Crystal Beach would be 4 useless cards in your deck.

Against Blissey, it's a toss up. If it's straight Blissey, it might work grand. If it's Blissvire or any Blissey variant that runs powers, it will be running windstorms.

But yeah, I do wonder why nobody plays it. I guess too many people just copy what wins.

Personally I think Kricketune should play Crystal Beach rather than DRE. Krickets are fast and will take early prizes, which usually means your opponenet will chump block and then set up a stage 2 with scramble to start sweeping your 'tunes. Crystal beach disrupts this strategy and if played with TGW (which 'tune also plays) you have to hope you draw into a Windstorm to get rid of it fast enough. What this means for Krictune is that it should play a bit more energy over 14 to make sure it stays consistant with not only the 2nd energy drop on turn 2, but also the 3 and 4 on the next two turns as well.

There is a lot more that can profit from Crystal Beach, but in a lot of cases you can just put it in your deck as a measure against certain decks, just in case, even if you do already have an upper hand. In fact, I figure every deck that doesn't run energy that provides 2 or more can use it.

i have to agree with the notion that kricket tune should use beach instead of doubles, think for a second of how many decks that hinders if only just a little bit. Infernape, Empoleon, DuskQueen, Mario. any thing with Holon's castform, even the mirror match. and in my experience with kricketune( which is fairly extensive) it doesn't ever really need double at least not nearly as much as beach.
