I think it's a region specific thing seeing as how there are 2 boxes, one having 30 and 60 cards.

that does make it quite interesting to play though.

Thanks for the link, I had not seen this yet. The page explains that there will be held special DP3 tournaments all over Japan soon, to celebrate DP4's release. These tournaments will have a special format, where you only use products fromt he DP3 block. This block contains of the two different booster packs, and the Magmortar vs Electivire deck pack. Because the format is DP4 only, up to 6 copies of each cards will be allowed in 60-card tournaments, and 4 copies of each card in 30-card tournaments.

EDIT:

Wow, this looks like fun. I'll be attending the Open League tournament at Project Core on November 4, and report here how it went if anyone's interested. ^^

(There will be two age categories: Junior League and Open League. The two age categories will not battle at the same time, but have seperate tournaments at seperate times of the day)

Hmmm, I don't think there's anything so special about this. In our prereleases, if we pull 6 of a card and we want to use them, we are allowed. If it's just for these limited tournaments, it's not much different from our Prereleases. However if it's going to be a regular thing from this point on, then it would be worth knowing about. Can anyone confirm?

Ah, yes. 100 for two Energy.

We're all doomed.

We now know that Eevee has 60HP, is weak to :fighting:+10, has :colorless retreat, is :colorless type, and has two attacks:
:colorless Name
Effect
:colorless Name 20
Effect (probably coin flip)

How could you play Cricketune if the format is DP4 only? :| Unless they reprint MT Cricketune in DP4, of course ...

I think Blaziken 1111 is saying that if the Leagues change the 4 of any Pokemon to 6 of any Pokemon from now on, that Kricketune would be a formidable Pokemon to use. Yes the Japan Tournament is DP4 only, but after that should the Tournaments be changed from 4 to 6 of any Pokemon. Battles would be even more interesting.

6 chansey + 6 chanseymom = GG
The 6 card limit thing changes everyithing way to radically. I love it when it happens on prereleases but I dont think its good for modified. Lets just hope this japanese tournament we are all taking about doesn't translate to modified.

Everyone, you have to to remember that Japan usually doesn't have prerelease tournaments. I went to a "prerelease" sort of tournament for DP1 one year ago, but that tournament was just a regular constructed tournament (TRR On) where you could buy DP1 booster decks and modifiy your deck with the new cards if you liked to. I'm pretty sure this is the closest Japan ever has been to holding a prerelease until this point.

Having tournaments in a one-expansion-format (like our prereleases) is an extremely rare thing in Japan, this might be the first time they try it out. The 4 card -> 6 card limit change might be PCL's first attempt at trying to figure out a set of rules for future tournaments of this kind. Remember that our limited format - 40 card-decks with no limitation on the number of same-name cards you can use - was created by WotC, not PCL.

These tournaments technically won't be limited anyway, though. You have about 2 weeks time (or more) to buy DP4, create any deck you like, and then go to the tournament. :D

I think that's very, very unlikely.

Did anyone read Tego's post?? This is for a limited format in ONE tourney in JAPAN. It will not be a change for our OP!! They dont have PRs in Japan. we do! At a PR, you can put as many cards as you get in your 6 packs in your 40 card deck. (excpet for * Pokes.....they are still limited to one a deck, per the card's writing)

Spilt trainers into trainers, supporters, and stadiums. Fine
Change weakness from x2 to +whatever. Fine
Create no-energy attacks. Fine

Allow up to 6 of one card in a deck? Absolutely not
