LEAF BLADE

The deck below has been edited to work in ideas outlined in the reviews below.

POKEMON (11):

2 Leafeon Lv.42 (beatdown)
1 Espeon Lv.44 (beatdown)
2 Jolteon Lv.39 (beatdown)
2 Leafeon Lv.X (beatdown)
4 Eevee Lv.14 (evolution)

TRAINER (32):

3 Team Galactic's Bet (disable)
3 Night Maintenance (enable)
3 Strength Charm (enable)
3 Celio's Network (search)
3 Professor Rowan (draw)
3 Prof. Oak's Visit (draw)
3 Plus Power (enable)
3 Windstorm (enable)
4 Quick Ball (search)
4 Castaway (draw)

ENERGY (17):

3 Double Rainbow Energy
5 Lightning Energy
6 Grass Energy
3 Boost Energy

MAIN IDEA:

The main idea is to start with Eevee and obtain the basics from the deck turn one. Ebsure to focus on Leafeon first and allow Jolteon to clean house once Leafeon has been defeated. With some trainer assistance the deck should be able to dish out a decent amount at a constant rate and has nice chances to score some one hit knock outs.

SPOILERS:

Spoilers are available from Pokébeach. The main translations are presented here to assist the reviewers in their attempts to revise the deck.

I like the concept. I recommend DRE instead of boost energy. You can attach DRE to your Jolteon and turn it into the next infernape! I assume you're playing the boost to give Leafeon Lv.X +30 for a turn. Al long as that Double Rainbow isn't attached to the pokemon attacking
(leafeon lv.x), you wont have to face the negative effect of the card, reducing damage by 10. Replace BeBe with Celio's Network since you don't play any ex cards here!

These cards are almost 100% for-sure not coming until States. Why prepare for them now?

Uhh... because states is the first big tournament... Cities and Fall Battle Roads are nowhere as important as Regionals/States/Worlds/Nationals.

Being prepared is good.

Eevee is broken. This deck is stupidly good.

4 quickball... you get one eevee and fill up and quickballs are instant celios.

I think an espeon is crucial in this deck. A free, permanent energy root? +20HP is nothing to scoff at. It makes your stage 1s have ~100+ HP. That's SICK!

120hp glaceon lvl X? No powers and 70 maybe a spintail? That's sick.

Also, why bebe's over celios?

Hi shiftrymaster68,

Since we use cards from JPN with the american restrictions here the Eeveelutions will be available to me soon. The reasons the other reviewers stated are another legit reason.

Hi Mew*,

Thanks for the review. Like the Double Rainbow idea somehow since Jolteon is a later cleaner and it should not effect him that much. Bebe was chosen since it is able to search out Leafeon Lv. X and combos well with Castaway in this deck to ensure a turn three Leafeon.

Hi ryanvergel,

Thanks for the review. The excessive Quick Balls are for the combo mentioned. thins the deck and enables faster Eeveelutions on the battelfield. Would have loved one teched Espeon in the deck but was unable to find a slot for it. Let me know how to alter the trainers and Pokémon in order to include Espeon into the team as a bench warmer. In case the deck is able to handle Double Rainbow instead of Boost it would even be able to attack in case there is a need to do so. Beside that Espeon would be able to trans the Double Rainbow to the bench before it is knocked out.

Hi PSYCO829,

The assistance line is indeed and issue. Not sure on Eggs due to the retreat costs and he hinders the balls somehow. The ideal assistance line would be a low cost basic with free retreat which searches out other basics for free or has a little energy acceleration. Any idea on what could work in this slot other than Celebi?

Hi rhodesia123,

Not sure if this is indeed the case. Celio enables one to search for basics and evolution cards while Bebe and the balls search for Pokémon cards. Leafeon does not state that it is a basic or evolution. It states that it is a level up card for a specific Pokémon. Is there some rule reference which states that Celio is able to obtain Lv. X cards from the deck? If this is the case it would be a far superior choice.

Oh, cool, sorry didn't know. IMO Celebi's not the play. Being able to Quick Ball and pull something good 100% of the time is just too good to pass up for Celebi. Depending on Time Space Distortion's availability to you, play that over Maintenance, since pulling back Leafy X immediately after it goes down is great. Here's a basic list...

11 Pokemon
4 Eevee
3 Leafeon
1 Leafeon Lv. X
2 Espeon
1 Jolteon

19 Energy
8 Grass
4 Double Rainbow
4 Boost
3 Lightning

30 Trainers
4 Quick Ball
4 PlusPower
4 Celio's Network
4 Professor Oak's Visit/TV Reporter
3 Time Space Distortion
3 Windstorm
2 Castaway
2 Strength Charm
2 Team Galactic's Wager
2 Warp Point

What's really cool about this deck is that it has nearly infinite possibilities. Glaceon/X can kill Infernape and Arcanine, another Espeon helps against Gallade and Lucario, etc.

Also, yes, Celio's will search for Lv.X's, since it has been "errata'd" to say, "Search your deck for a Pokemon card, show it to your opponent, and put it in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards." Same with Nidoqueen d, Master Ball, and everything else that references "Basic Pokemon and Evolution cards" in its text. GL!

Hi shiftrymaster,

Thanks for the review. Like the idea to leave Celebi out. The deck is rather similar to Krickertune but more consistent. Nice to see that Celio's Network is able to obtain Leafeon Lv. X. This makes the deck much easier to handle. Time-Space Distortion is a nice idea. Will use that for sure.

Hi Hi PSYCO829,

Did not know that since I stopped with the new sets and just came back with the release of the new Eeveelutions. This makes things so much easier.

Although maybe this is a stupid idea, I think Mr. Stone's Project would be a good card for this deck, since it gets the energies you want, and since you have almost all basic NRG and three different types of NRG, I think since you can get ANY 3 basic energy out of the deck or discard, that would help set up the bench.

EDIT: Didn't see that you only had 2 types of basic energy. WHOOPS. Still, consider maybe two Mr. Stones, since they can get energy fast in place of Celebi/Weavile that you could play.

I'm thinking Glaceon is the play over Jolteon - covers weaknesses better, the LVL X is sick-good, and Jolteon strikes me as being about average in a format that's going to feature some ridiculously powerful pokemon.

Looks like a great list. The only thing I would change as of now is TSD to Night Maintenance because I stink at flipping coins, rolling dice, etc

Hi TYranitarFReak,

Thanks for the review. Compared to grass weakness the own fire weakness is more common which would hurt the deck. Leafeon Lv. X should be able to take down opponents without the need to benefit from weakness. At the moment the deck runs Strength Charm as well as Plus Power to ensure some faster one turn knock outs. Did you mean to switch the amount of Strength Charm and Plus Power around?

Hi Umbykirb,

Thanks for the review. Stone's Project is a little slow and less general than Castaway. The four Castaway should net me some needed basis energies while those are able to obtain Strength Charm and a supporter same turn. This seems to thin the deck a little better.

Hi Dendrobatida,

Thanks for the review. Considered Glaceon and Vaporeon at first. Out of these two Glaceon would be the better one but requires me to get rid of Espeon again to be able to run both Pokémon Lv. X in the same deck. The reason for Jolteon was that both Jolteon and Leafeon at least share a common theme and would be able to knock out stage ones in a single hit without trainer assistance. Felt that Glaceon might be better in a fast snipper deck. Let me know what you think about it.

Hi KingGengar,

Thanks for the review. I look at Time-Space Distortion like a restricted Pokémon Retriever. At least one will be able to obtain one Pokémon card from the discard pile at a constant rate.

Celio enables one to search for basics and evolution cards while Bebe and the balls search for Pokémon cards. .

Actully there was a ruling that says anycard that says you may search for a "basic pokemon or evolution" is replaced with the word "pokemon," allowing for pretty much everything but prof. elm and mentor to get a lv. x. for this reason, you shuld definitely make the switch to celio's. Quick ball says any pokemon card becuse it was printed after DP, which is when that ruling came out. However, you are allowed to search for them with Celio's because it was printed before the wording could be changed.
