Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Top BR Performers (Win %, Records, Medals)

For those of you who are saying you don' t know your record, check the OP site and just go to your stats, it should say your record there.

And for those of you who are saying this thread is pointless, why do you think the NFL does weekly stats like top passing, top rushing, offensive player of the week etc. Just because someone gets 200+ yards rushing week 1 doesn't mean their winning the rushing title so its pointless? right?

Why is it a bad thing to give players who have done well the chance to see how they compare to all the other players who have played?

I think all these good people at home want you to admit is that yes, this is an ego boost for Mr. Shen. :)

With that out of the way...you're completely right: the ranking system is not an accurate enough way to measure just who is or is not the most successful during a season, so people actually posting their wins and their %'s is a way to correct things

This also covers the entire season, whereas the rankings only convey any one given point in time...it's nice to look back on everyone's overall year.

Personally, I like seeing some of these records but could do without the boasting. I can look at the OP site but usually I am just left wondering HOW players received the points that they did.

Yes, my son is proud of his record and BR wins and so am I. But I am also curious just how some of these other JR players got so many points. If it was just more tournaments then I may need to increase the number of Cities, etc that we attend. Of course, he may not win but then again he might and we always have fun.

how you would suck, Adam? im sure you got a good start then if you got good decks, you may still have a strong lead :)

just wait, when cities comes around im gonna suck =/

Even if you're joking, what you say is thought-provoking..

we who desired to perform better and did not (myself included), who feel somewhat betrayed by our decks and our skillz, and lady luck also...

if we had reached the heights that we anticipated, perhaps now we would be as nervous for the future as we are dismayed by the present...

so, Adam, enjoy! You are currently the New England Patriots of Pokemon players.

If he says he isn't, and is on a very exclusive forum memberlist and strategizes with Team R members (Zach...) then who knows.

People can strategize with whomever they like. Bobby discussing decks with Zach has nothing to do with his team affiliation, nor does the fact that he is listed as a forum member.

Point being: you should let him speak for his own team affiliation, as opposed to using him as a prop.

Lawman made a really good point in this topic. No invites have been given as of yet, so why are people so worried about their ratings right now? The season is way too early to even figure who could possibly get an invite. A lot of new players are going to jump into OP this year, and a lot of us who spent our season last year getting our feet wet are going to get better. The ranking that I'm sitting on right now is only because of two really lucky battle road performances. It's the amount of boasting that really gets to me with winning.

^Thx Secrets.

I may have been a bit harsh, bc winning events should be something one is proud of. What got my gall was the "requirement" of 3 BR wins. Then they added the 80% win also. Some players did not get to go to multiple BRs (5+) to build such a resume. Are they "worse" players bc they only went to 2 BRs and won one of them??

I remember some sour grapes when Jake Burt showed up to NC states, after not playing at all for a bit (grad school and new baby will do that to ya!) and took huge chunks of points from his victims. Jake never forgot how to play, he just didn't get the chance/opportunity to do so.

Wins are great.....just dont act like you are the next best thing to sliced bread in the Pokemon world. Be a bit humble in your play. Act like a true champion, not a donkey. Ness is a great example of this. So is Bobby M. (FL SR Nat Champ 2006) Yamato, possibly the BEST player we have ever seen, is very humble. This is the point I'm trying to make. Act like you've been there before.

lawman: for the record, i'm 1-1 against john in tournaments, me and eric play a LOT and im sure he'd tell you that i've beaten him at least as many times as he's beaten me. i've played steve ONCE EVER and i lost (it was my first game in my first premier event ever, sorry.)

MAYBE ONE DAY I'LL BE GOOD AT THIS GAME.

i NEVER said i was the best player in Florida. there are SOOOO many good players that it's pretty much impossible to tell who is. you don't play in florida though. you've also never seen me play. i dont know if you've seen bianchi, ryan, or omar play either. i'm just really bad i guess....maybe someday i'll be able to take a prize vs. a silvestro!

also for the record, i played in 3 BR's.

Being HJ in MAs at the SE Reg's in High Point 2007 means I've seen many good MA players. As I recall.....Ryan, Bianchi and others from FL were there  I was also on Jeff's judge staff in MAs at the same Reg the prev. couple of years. Oh yeah....Judged Nats 2007 and Worlds 2006. But, I guess I'm no good at that either. I know there are tons of really good players in FL. But, I know who the top 3-4 MAs are and you are not in that top tier, at least not yet. Accomplish something like what both Silvestros have done at Nats or Worlds, Eric Craig or Bobby M. These are your top 4 in FL right now.

I also didnt say you weren't good Zach. I just said let me know when you start beating the top tier players on a consistent basis, in a tourney that means something (I beat the hound out of most of our league players and I'm not that great). I guess the "humble pie" will never take in you .

i never said you were bad at judging i just wasn't aware that you had ever seen any of us play.

bianchi's won more than ANY of the people listed in nintendo-on US Masters events. if he's not in that top tier then it is SEVERELY flawed.

Ryan: You've been to at least 2 tournies I have judged at. The 1st time, you made a positive comment about the judge carrying around a copy of the Compendium EX in a binder. That was me a few yrs ago. Your group was also at Reg's in NC and possibly SC States 2007?? I remember giving Bianchi driving directions before you all drove off in the evening. Bianchi is a very good player. He may very well be in the top 5 in FL. What was his best showing in Nats or Worlds?

OT: Lia had a thread last yr updating rankings every month. Why doesn't someone do that this year? Then we can see the fluidity of the rankings.

PS Was typing my reply as Zach logged on and posted

Uh last time I checked Bianchi has gotten the better of Eric and the Silvestros consistently: sometimes due to luck (John has a word or two about his flips...), and other times due to just being so bleeping good at this game!!!

He must be soooo bad at this game =P. Worlds showings aside, this guy has, despite his legendary flips, been pretty unlucky, and has unfortunately missed out on nationals/worlds top cuts for ridiculous reasons. I'd put him into Florida's top tier just due to the fact that he gets the better of people that go on and achieve greater things...Are the Mavericks not a top tier b-ball team just because they lost to the warriors for ridiculous matchup reasons? No!

But hey, I love FL players. Especially Ryan, Alex, and Omar.
