Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

best match-up with blissey

What deck has the best match-up with blissey? Any help would be apprieciated.

The worst card to face with Blissey at the moment is Meganium d. Pokegym Blissey lists nearly fold to a well built Meganium d deck (whether it be with gatr or something else). Sableye also works on Pokegym Blissey decks as well, but none of these are that favored against Ramen TRUK, which is the best blissey variant atm.

Just about any quick Fighting-type will do well against Blissey, but I agree w/desert eagle in that Meggy d may be the best of the best. It's got good HP, its attacks are easy to rev up (especially w/Flygon d around), :water: Resistance helps it against Empoleon and Gatr MT, its Poke-Power helps you deploy, and its retreat cost is OK. You'll want to use its Delta Reduction attack almost exclusively againt Blissey since it acts as a shield. I put some of her in my R-gon deck and it worked pretty well against the aforementioned Ramen TRUK (Blisscario w/Bronzong tech) during League the other day. I think she's a keeper.

Sableye looks good on paper (and its Excavate Poke-Power would go well even within a Blissey deck!), but is a little too frail to be used for anything but a starting Pokemon. Also, there are ways of getting around the Resistance (coughcoughswweavilecough) and Disable (switch out!).

Blissey can outspeed a lot of Kingdra decks. I'm not going to say it's a good matchup but it's certainly a very winnable one for the right Blissey build. The prize card tradeoff favors Bliss as well.

Mario is a tough match for Blissey.

Meganium d is OK vs Blissey. Much depends on how the Blissey is built in that one.

I cant see how Blissey could possibly compete head-to-head with Kingdra. Even when I played against Moving TRUK, Kingdra still beats out Electivire.

I have to concur. I've had very little problems with Blissey using Kingdra Swarm, and the people I've also seen play it have also had very little problems. In a straight consistant build, I've very rarely seen Kingdra lose. The one's I have seen lose were off of terrible hands by the Kingdra player. The only time problems arise are when you see a Lati Lock in with Blissey, which I have only seen one player use. In every other aspect, Kingdra does exactly what finalstain soes, messes up Blissey. The damage reduction kills the all out damage spam Blissey loves so much, and I don't typically see Cessation Crystal because most Kingdra players run Windstorm and Blissey doesn't like wasting Kind Egg. (Unless of course, you play the cess crystal AFTER Kind Egg, attack the Kingdra without smoke, then windstorm it off, which is a very very difficult thing to do.)

Kingdra decks have the upper hand. Just because someone can beat Kingdra with Blissey doesn't mean it always will beat it. I'm not saying its a perfect matchup, and it will always beat Blissey, because its not, but it certainly gets the job done.

I went to the last BR with 4 Ray EX/ 1- Sableye along with 4-Potions, 4-ER2, 4-SSU, and 4 of anything else disruptive I could find and took Bobby M. to the final turn before losing. I of course had my typical two misplays as well. Just decided to go have some fun with something different. Just have to think out of the box sometimes. Went 4-1 (only losing to undefeated swiss player) and got 5th and missed Top Cuts. Oh well. Still had a blast and now look forward to the new set and cities.

Not saying this is the best counter but sometimes rogue can sneak up on people and all the well laid plans. 5 total Pokes allows for a lot of fun!!
