This card seems amazing

T2 100 along w/ being able to get a free energy after the attack.
Sure your opponent draws a prize, but more than likely you will too.
The T2 donking potential is also amazing.

I think it is best when combined w/ Electivire (SW).
Electivire is another beastly Stage 1 w/ a Lv. X form.
Electivire can use it's power to grab an energy, then get an energy from Trode, and then you have your energy attachment for next turn (possibly a DRE) to make it's attack a near OHKO, while your charging up another Trode/Vire on your bench.
Vire Lv. X has a great power and a down right annoying attack and can really help you get that late game, energy efficient attacker right when you need it, if you ever go past the first few turns.

I haven't tested this deck but it seems pretty amazing.
I am thankin 3-3-3-1 (Vire/Lv. X) line (if you like draw) OR 4-3-1 (SW Buzz) for the speed
and 4-4 Trode line

I love both of these cards so much.
Problem is, starting w/ Buzz is a pain, BUT Thundershock is nice on the SW one.
AND 4 Switch (I believe) are necessary. Vire/Buzz have amazingly painful retreat costs and often times, if you don't have that Switch you won't be able to attack with Trode/Vire the next turn, which can become a crutial turning point.

just run 4/3/1 vire
4 SW buzz 3 SW vire 1 lv x
no need for elekid unless ur running vire dp

yeah, that's what I was running too. I changed it cause somebody suggested the delta body. But I like the other way better.
PLUS
T1 Thundershock can be very nice in such a fast format.

Did anyone notice that the SW Voltorb has a turn 2 fifty attack? Turn Two-alicious indeed.

I wouldn't put it with Electivire. Killing 'Trode means that you'll have to bring up Electivire for your opponent's turn, which puts you at an inherent disadvantage.

I just promote another trode

the new trode isn't as great as i thought it was, you can't actually ko yourself whenever you want, like trode ex. as i see it you may as well let your opponent ko you so that he becomes useful straight away. rather than letting your opponent attack after you've attached the energy.

quite good but not format breaking, or anywhere close.

I thought the way the Poke-Power read, you can only attach it as an energy if it gets knocked out on your turn. That would imply that you have to do the self-destruct attack to get to attach it as an energy (or use some other card that lets you damager your own pokemon on your own turn).

Exactly.

Thus, though it might work with Electivire, better tech to bring up for the opponent once you ko yourself might be something along the lines of Mr. Mime or Venomoth.

WOW, I really didn't read this card that well at 1st. I was thiking this card is just amazing but after really looking at it, it isn't. Don't get me wrong, I still think this card is a beast and my 2nd fave card in this set next to Banette. Electivire is an alright combo but, there are some better ones!!!

I'm sorry, what's the use of T2'ing something if it KO's your only powered pokemon? Bring up another electrode? And let it get KO'd on your opponent's next turn?

Electrode is interesting, but I don't see it being a good T2 deck. If anything, I see it working in a LBS type deck as a good attacker and a way to lay extra energy on pokemon that just won't be OHKO'd next turn.

Electrode/Electivire I dont think would be that good honestly cause you just drop scramble and do the same thing.

Electrode needs to be in something that needs to accel NRG,but not in electivire cause it can do itself.
