---Henry married Lucy Grymes (1734-1792), nicknamed "The Lowland Beauty" [3] [4]. She was very fair. Her eyes were blue and her hair exceptionally blonde, soft and light as a baby's. ---According to local tradition, she was one of the Virginia beauties adored by Gen. George Washington (1732-1799) in his early youth. To her legend also ascribes his schoolboy verses, ---and many have surmised that when in after years Washington so favored her son "Harry", it was because of his tender memories of the boy's mother.

---Lucy was the daughter of Hon. Charles Grymes (1693-1743) (twice related to President George Washington) and Frances Jennings (great-aunt of Edmund Randolph). Charles was of ---the estate "Morattico", in Richmond County, Virginia. He was Sheriff of Richmond County, and a member of the Council from 1724-1725.

Actually nearly everyone on this planet is related to some form of royalty or another.

They may be, but we know for sure we are DIRECT decendants, not some offshoot, 13092 times removed.

Ill see if I can link to a scan of the documents found, as soon as I getthem in the mail from the Stratford Hall Plantation; Robert E. Lee Memorial Association, Inc.

WOW, that's really cool. I wish I could know my family history back that far. The farthest my aunt ever got was a few generations.

And if you're born in North America there's a good chance you have some Native American/First Nation/Indian blood in you. In my case, I'm at least 1/256 Kaskasian, stemming from my paternal grandmother's Acadian heritage. Then there's my Korean half... I'm curious how much Chinese and Japanese blood are in me and who I'm related to through all of that.

In all seriousness though, I have almost absolute no clue concerning my ancestry, and really don't mind. I try not to make a big deal about who my ancestors were as it doesn't really affect my day-to-day living. That is unless the Japanese Gov't decides to give reparations to Koreans for past atrocities, or France decided to give a hand-out to all modern Acadians for Le Grand Dérangement, then we'll talk.

I do not know any of my genealogy :) Theres Me and that's it! I don't even know my parents other than their names, which really doesnt help.. So Clay do we have to call you Prince Clay or something?

Are you now going to secede from PokeGym?

Just wondering...

And leave my friends hanging? Nope dont think so

Lee did quite a few things other than just being a general, after the war he founded and ran a college.

B

Speaking of which, my Great Grandmother was Full Comanche Indian. Which makes me 1/8th... =D

I'm adopted, so I'll never be able to do this lol.

Ouch, "never" is such an ending term. I like to think of it this way. "Not able to at the moment"

One of my Mom's side ancestors, like 3 or 4 generations earlier, was the emporer of China's right hand man

Our family lost all our riches because of damn communism, so I have absolutely nothing to show for it =(

I for, one, salute PokeGym's new Confederate overlord. Yeeeeehaaaw!

Too bad my Civil War ancestor fought for the Yankee side.
