I was thinking, anything in this format that doesn't get slowed down by Cessation Crystal probably has a hard time against Crystal Beach. There are a lot of decks that have a hard time against both Cessation and Beach, and yet I still find myself neglecting to include Windstorm/counterstadiums in my versions of these decks and I often see others doing the same. So this would be my answer to that. Absol start, decimate your opponent's hand. Riolu start, decimate your opponent's pokemon.

The only problem I see with this deck is that it doesn't really have a long game. I can definitely see running Absol as another starter in Mario, but this looks like it runs out of steam pretty quick.

Actually now that I think about it a little more, night maintenance probably wouldn't work here. The deck will indeed run out of steam if you don't recycle the Lv.X at least a couple times, and Night Maintenance only does that for you if you've got a Celio's in hand as well. I think this deck would need at least a couple Time Space Distortion to keep the damage output up with Stance + Close Combat every few turns. Lucario is just a beast; 30 for 1, 60 for 2, 80 for 3, and a coming-into-play prevent all effects power. Getting 3-4 Stance in one game should win you the game.

Indeed; add super scoop ups to benefit both Lucario LvX and Absol? Together with the lone darkness the build is almost dedicated to super scoop up so I'd try 3 or 4 in it and see how it goes.

The lone dark energy is just a tech against Banette SW. I'll drop a great ball for a Roseanne's to make it easier to get the whole absol + energy + retreat = raid combo all in one turn.

What is there to drop for SSU?

Is that a basic darkness energy? You didn't specify. I hope it is so that you can at least try to search for it with castaway.
