My bro is a junior and is wanting to start going to tournaments with me. There is only one other junior in our area who can actually PLAY, so he shouldn't have too much trouble. He loves Feraligatr, but hurricane is a bit too much for him, so I decided to try feraligatrδ:

Pokeymans:18

4 Holon's Castform
4 Totodileδ
2 Croconaw(SW)
4 Feraligatrδ
1 Spearow(CG)
1 Fearowδ
1 Rayquaza ex δ
1 Mantineδ

Trainers: 27

4 Candy
3 Windstorm
3 Mentor
3 Celio
3 Oak's Visit
2 Castaway
2 Strength Charm
1 Buffer Piece
1 Night Maintenance
1 Copy Cat
1 Warp Point
2 Battle Frontier
1 Scott

Energy:

12 Lightning
3 DRE

Strategy:
Use Castform and Fearow to get multiple Feraligatrs set up. The more feraligatr's that are out, the more powerful his attack is. Drag off is VERY useful, a gust of wind+damage:biggrin:!! Rayquaza ex can snipe if he's behind on prizes, and I'm not too sure how useful mantine is. I thought it would help if there is energy drought, but, then again, there are castform....yeah, it can go:tongue:.

Well, if anyone can offer some fixes, I'll appreciate it! Thanks!

maby he could also try Nidoqueen δ instead of fearow. It can search just like fearow (except that it can also search for the castforms) also it own attack get's more powerfull with more pokemon in the discard and also get pumped up by the Feraligatr. You could take out the Mantine to fit one line of it in. But battle Frontier will hurt it..... so ether forget about it, or find a diffrent stadum to replace BF,or replace it with another buffer pice.

wow. that's great. the only flaw i see in that is that Queen is a stage 2, which would make it slower...thoughts, anyone?

wrong, my kids play in juniors and you would lose playting power-heavy decks without windstorms. all depends on your local competition

to stay on topic, I find that Blissey is a good deck to play for juniors, depends on how long your brother has been playing. The deck that you listed may be a bit much for like a 6-7 yr old

u dont need windstorm in juniors

He's 10, and he just started a few months ago. I think he's learning the game pretty well. Perhaps soon he will be able to hold his own against me and my pals.
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll definitely take them into consideration when helping his deck get ready for cities!

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Why not MegaGatr???

'cause I don't have any Megas:tongue:

some suggestions

1. if you're playgin castform draw engine, max out on the mentor
2. drop mantine. if you want more deltas to fill up your bench, how about cloyster d?
3. one more maintenance
4. add a scramble

1) sounds good
2) i'm gonna drop him. i can mentor for energy. kind of a waste of bench space
3) ...ok
4) interesting...
5) i hate your avatar:tongue:

Gatr d had quite a few combos that went with it. The ones I remember most were Gatr/Queen, MegaGatr, (both mentioned) and GatrEggs. I played GatrEggs for a little while and found it to be rather effective and pretty quick as well. It would go something like this now:

Pokemon (23)
4-2-4 Gatr d (use the MT Crocanaw to help draw into energy)
3-3 Eggs (HP)
1-1 Fearow (or just a 4-4 Eggs)
1 Ray ex d
4 Holon's Castform

Trainers (24)
3 Holon Mentor
3 Roseanne's Reseach
3 Night Maintenence
3 Holon Adventurer
1 Lake Boundary
2 Castaway
1 Strength Charm
4 Cleio's Network
4 Rare Candy

Energy (13)
6 Lightning
2 Fighting
3 DRE
2 Scramble

Trust me, I thought about using Eggs, but a good sniper takes a bit of skill to play. This is for my Jr. bro. I don't think he can play it right. I was afraid of putting Ray in there for him. How does Mega combo well with Gatr?

Mega is a good tech against blissy and other decks.. He can expose weekness with it, it reduce dmg. Also its a quick 3 searcher.. Not bad.. I would definatly try to play another line of pokemon... Gatr by its self isnt going to work that great. I would try adding queen meganium eggs or flygon (i played with flygon/flygon ex for almost every battle road, placed 1st in 3 of them and top 2 for the other 2..)

Good trainer line and energy line. Since fighting is very much played I think Pinsir d is a good choice.
Pokemon line
4-3-4 Gatr d
1-1 Fearow
3 Pinsir
2 Castform

Good luck

You mustn't play to much techs, if he is starting a few months ago.
If you will play Fearow, I should play a 2-2 line.
And if you play a trainer, I shouldn't play 1, I should play 2 or more.
