This is a fun deck I've been messing with at league. Electrode is one of the few quick damage Lightning pokemon out there. With DWD, Emploeon, and Gatr all running around I thought I would see what it could do.

Original decklist altered

Pokemon (22)
4-3 Electrode (SW)
3-2-3 Nidoqueen d (DF)
1 Rayquazza Ex d (DF)
1 Latios EX d (DF)
1 Latias (HP)
4 Holon's Castform

Trainers (25)
3 Holon Mentor
4 Roseanne's Research
4 Rare Candy
3 Windstorm
4 Celio's Network
2 Night Maintenence
3 Plus Power
2 Super Scoop Up

Energy (13)
4 Metal (special)
5 Lightning
4 DRE

Strategy: Holon Castform is your optimal starter, but either Lati can work as well. Voltorb is also a passable starter if you get the right hand. Use the many basic search cards to get Latilock going along with at least 1 Voltorb and the start of a Queen. Draw as much as you can with Castform then start bombing away with Electrodes for a few turns. You don't need 4 Electrode, but having 3 helps finding one early in the game when you want it. Use this combination to reuse the same Electrode several times: Blow an Electrode for 100 damage, attacth the Electrode as energy onto a benched Voltorb, send up a Lati@s with free retreat to take a hit, next turn retreat for the Voltorb, attatch a Castform which returns the Electrode to your hand, evolve to Electrode and go boom for 100 again. Rinse and repeat until you run out of Voltorbs or there are 6 Pokemon in your discard pile. Try and pile several Metal on a Queen and start sweeping for 90 to finish off whatever your opponent has left. Ray EX d adds a much needed sniper and can usually attack for 1 energy midgame if you fall behind on prizes.

Very cool idea. 19 energy counting castforms seems like a bit much. I think you could cut some out to make room for a couple more trainers...Castaway perhaps?

take out:
1 rosseane's
1 holon mentor
4 lightning energy

add in:
1 rare candy
1 scramble energy
1 ray ex
3 holon mentor/tv reporter
after 8-10
before 6-10

take out:
1 holon mentor

add in:
3 holon mentor
lol

If you just keep sending up Latios ex d after you kill your own Electrode, they're eventually going to kill it. I wanted to make an Electrode deck as well, but I just don't see how it is going to work.

Very carefully

Nice deck, I think you should at least add in more Rayquaza d (He's a beast man!) because not only do you abuse your own deck with him (If they kill Electrode) but also because 70 for 2 (lightning) is awesome.

You're probably right, I just wanted a nice high energy count to help with T1 Delta Draw. I could probably cut 2 Lighting without severely reducing my chances on that. Not sold on Castaway in here, but it might allow a bit more flexibilty.

Not sure what you mean with Holon Mentor, putting in reasoning behing card changes would help a bunch. Dropping down to 3 Lighting Energy seems a bit drastic, though. Another Ray Ex d is a definate possibility.

If you just keep sending up Latios ex d after you kill your own Electrode, they're eventually going to kill it.

One of the main problems I've had as well. I've thought about adding in a 2nd Latios Ex to help with this. Super Scoop Up is another possible solution to help save it, SSU can also be used to get a damaged Ray Ex d back into my hand as well.

I think you should at least add in more Rayquaza d

Second suggestion for this. I'll edit the main list.

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions. I'm not sure something like this would hold up to major tournament decks, but it certainly does counter a few of the more popular ones right now.

i would find 2 more rare candies to be useful but you probably don't have 4 so no biggy

9/10 will you r/f D-Virus in my signature

I have plenty of Rare Candy, it's just finding the room for them in this. Also, with Nidoqueen as the only stage 2 I'm not sure how useful maxing them out would be. I do understand that it would help find them for a T1-T2 Queen, though. I also see that you could possibly get a god hand and Ion Blast for 90 on T1 if you go second. I suppose dropping 1 Plus Power and something else (maybe the 2nd Ray Ex I just added) would free up the room needed. Any suggestions on what to replace with 2 more Candy would be appreciated.

Awesome idea, but i just dont see how 100 is gonna kill A blissey. Some stage 2 are able to withstand 100 damage too.

BTW, it's a 1-1 prize trade, i'd rather run blisseys that can OHKO and take 2 blows before it goes to discard pile.

i'd drop the two super scoop up simply because flips usually don't go my. i try to keep away from the element of chance if at all possible. but if you like flips and it seems to work for you then yes you could drop a plus power and a ray ex,i believe super scoop is there to retrieve ray ex anyways is it not? and yes even with 1 stage 2 line,if it's a search engine then you should be playing 4 rare candy to max consistency. simply put queen is your pidgeot in this deck. and we all know how well decks with pidgeot worked when a player was unable to get it out quickly enough. a turn 5 or 6 queen will be far too late against a deck with any kind of speed, for example blissey or an absol/gardy that takes away a dozen cards before you even have a queen out. hope my advice helps.

The SSU were to hopefully return Latios Ex or Rayquaza Ex to prevent them from getting KO'd and losing me two more prizes, and in Rayquaza's case get it out of the active spot to promote a Voltorb/Electrode.
Blissey is obviously going to be a problem with a lot of decks, this one can kill a Blissey though. If you start with Voltorb you can hit Chansey for 20 on turn 1 and Ion Blast for another 100 and turn 2. One Plus Power would allow you to KO a lone Blissey (or any other 130HP pokemon). More commonly though you will Delta Draw 1-2 times to set your hand up and chop Blissey's down a little at a time. Blissey is a big reason why I consider this more a league than tournament deck, but it's still fun to play around with and could suprise quite a few people in a typical tournament.

From the build that you have up now, I took out 1 Roseanne's, 1 Celio's, and 1 windstorm, and added 1 Rare candy (to get to Queen quicker), and 2 Birch to come back from Absol and TGW. I like your idea. Mind you, Chances are that I'll never get a chance to play this competitively since I'm a judge first. Anyone want to test that out for me?

I seriously thought about playing this, but my G/G and Blisey decks I play test against give it real problems. It does do a good job of wrecking DWD and Empoleon though. I agree on adding in a Rare Candy (not sure on 4 just yet). This might just be me, but I feel like the deck is missing that one last piece to really put it over the top. I'm not quite sure what that would be, but it would have to work with Latilock in play and not take up much room, since there isn't much to spare.

I was thinking of using Electrode with Lanturn (PK).
Try Nidoqueen from Mysterious Treasures maybe?
When electrode blows up, you'll have a smaller bench.
You could even add a copycat, after your opponent draws a prize card.
