I would agree that it wasn't a terrible decision, but it isn't one that I would have made. This looks like a PSA 8 max with no chance at a PSA 9. The price paid was close to a PSA 8 price.
I would only pay PSA 8 price ungraded if I thought the chance for a 9 was high. I would pay PSA 9 price...
imo the one that is most guaranteed to at least hold its value is the 1st Edition Base Set box.
But in terms of bang for buck and potential to increase in value, I would probably go with the 1st Edition Jungle and/or fossil boxes and keep them sealed.

For the no-rarity Ponyta you mentioned, the no-rarity version simply came from a Theme deck (like the ones we have in the English speaking world), whereas the normal one came from a pack. ALL JPN theme deck cards had no rarity symbols in the GYM era. Value is roughly equal for both versions...
Ugh, are you referring to grey/light stamps? The actual ghost pikachu has only a partial stamp, and Pikachu was the only card known to have that error. All the base set cards can have grey (low ink) stamps, are you referring to these?
There is a decently well-known Japanese artist/collector (idk what to call her) who made these fake cards and a bunch of other interesting Japanese promos. She focuses on the snap cards, and legendary birds from the TMB Phone cards.
So yes they are fake haha

Seriously though, how are you that lucky? I had one order come in around 25 business days a long time ago, but most come in between 38 and 45 business days. This is my worst.
Do you think it has anything to do with the order being 128 cards? :p
