I haven't weighed in in a post in a very long time, haven't been as active as a player and there are a couple of factors to it which have varied between time, lack of time to playtest, last seasons dreadful format, and this season's rules haven't been very pleasant either.
Personally, from both...
Looks like Mr. Nowak got my deck up before I managed to, so I'll toss out the ones I'm aware of (Though he was not aware that I run no Mewtwo in my list. I'm Stephen McGaffney btw)
Matt Nawal: Crazy Magnezone/Mewtwo mix
Jacob Rebescher: Darkrai/Tornadus/Mewtwo
Trainer Lock should not be an issue. Little to no decks feat. trainer lock can actually afford playing catcher, so even getting the eevee before that happens is a safe play.
^ Good argument, however the lock decks that I've done well against didn't initially have 130 HP's and were easy to KO. I can definitely say Zekrom variants do not need Espeon because all they need to do is get ahead and stay ahead the entire time (even one good heads flip from a Tynamo ruins...
Remember that Unown G guy that was so bad that everyone ran two of in every deck back in the SP variants?
Yeaaaaaahh.. I'll take the Call for Family Eevee and an Espeon over an auto loss to a bad deck I shouldn't be losing to because my opponent can't flip tails. Doesn't ruin any consistency at...
Going ponies this year. Got Twilight Sparkle up in the house.
Might wear my 3 Red XIII moon shirt one of those days, and I've got some pokemon related shirts as well. Always sporting my Akron Zips hat though.
To expand on Seniors in Ohio.
1st Place: Adler P. (Zekrom/Eelectrik)
2nd Place: Joey N. (Celebi/Tornadus/Mewtwo)
3rd/4th: Henry P. (Zekrom/Eelectrik)
3rd/4th: Daniel C. (Magnezone/Eelectrik)
Not a deck against SotG. Its annoying to play against and makes one salty when they lose to it, but its not against SotG.
I think the thing that annoys me more is that it wins in swiss then is auto-loss in top cut, so its effectively killing off good decks in swiss then losing to sometimes...
Honestly the only way I've beaten Mega judge is by Catchering a Zone into play ASAP and keeping it on attack lock while building, and it really only worked once. Its really just not a good matchup. I'm currently experimenting with techs, but most just aren't cut out for the deck (Terrakion? Good...
