If run in a deck which uses basic fire or lightning energy he is actually quite useful against Rayquaza EX. Discard three appropriate energy with Foul Play copying Dragon Burst for the OHKO...
I believe there was a rules change in B/W which, if you acquire a Choice item via Trick/Switcheroo, you are not now locked into Trick but the next subsequent move. This allows a whole new group of pokemon to counter Scarf abusers.
You can tell as soon as level 5 if a pokemon is a no-go IV wise. If they pass that first test I just save the game and feed them a bunch of rare candies (and sometimes vitamins) to get a better estimate and then turn the game off without saving.
Conkeldurr without Mach Punch, when he is the only Gen V pokemon who can know Mach punch, is... odd.
Both WoW and Boiling Water on Jellicent seems needlessly redunant, especially when it could have Blizzard instead.
Focus Blast doesn't just help against Dark types but against Steel which is everywhere and resists Psychic. Psyshock is an interesting alternate to Psychic giving Reinculus a bit of a mixed attacker feel. The final move on Reinculus really depends on what his role is on your team. Trick Room...
I've beaten the game once and am in the process of subduing it for the purpose of creating competitive 5th gen pokemon. One of the things I cannot find is the Aerial Ace TM at the Airstrip. Does the girl wanting to trade something for Sweet Hearts have something to do with it? Where do I find...
I see Hydregion as performing as a non-legendary/uber Latios/Latias. The combination of Draco Meteor & U-Turn is absolutely scary.
There are many ways for Haxorus to overcome the one point of speed differential. The simplest IMO is to for a focus sashed Haxorus (with Mold Breaker) to hit...
torterra thrives on being able to soak up a lot of damage. supreme blast totally short circuits that strategy. torterra also relies on cutting attack costs in half with sceptile. if amu is running palkia lvl x (and every good amu build should) it will drag something forward that has no energy...
Torterra is bad against AMU and i cannot imagine it does well against spread decks like abomasnow or dusknoir since one of its main attacks damages its own bench.
i would say go with tyranitar.
ampharos will be vigorously played initally and then fail because its attacks are expensive and ineffectual when compared to any of the one energy stage 2 donkers. then there are the decks like scizor/cherrim which run power free and will run circles around it. ultimately you will some 1-1...
2-2 mespirit. since mespirit is usually the main, active attacker it is also the one most likely to eat a counter attack and get KOed. the ability to make a second mespirit lvl x without fishing anything out of the discard pile is fantastic. getting two mespirit level x in play can be game...
1-1 mewtwo would do nothing for this deck but take up space. mewtwo level x is only dangerous to AMU if it can charge up and fight. this deck runs zero psychic energy. as a stall mewtwo is about as bad as mr mime, all the AMU player has to do is restructure with palkia/warp point and clobber...
my AMU plays a mix of 2-2 and 3-1
Azelf for example, almost has to be a 3-1 line. you need 2 time walk azelfs for consistent set up but you need one azelf mt for any mirror matches (and to mess with many other opponents). you get caught in a mirror match where your opponent has downer material...
