Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Illinois State Championship 3-20-2010

Illinois State Championships

This event is open to all players and are run using the Swiss pairing format, so you can play through each round and never be eliminated. State Champioships are a great place to test your new deck strategies and bring your play skills to the next level! The top players of the State Championship are awarded prizes for the skills needed to do well in such a large event.

When preparing for a State Championship Tournament make sure you have a Deck that is ready to play in a competitive sanctioned tournament. To do this first check that your Deck complies with the current Modified Format Regulations. After checking your cards are legal for play, you will then need to fill out a DECKLIST!

If you are using sleeves be sure they are all the same color and size. Damaged sleeves will NOT be allowed for this event. Shiny backs or printed backed sleeves will also not be allowed.

I should be there with my dad. We both will participate for sure.:thumb:

Indeed, I really hope this tournament will be great, and I have a really good feeling that this may be the best states tournament yet. I just can't wait for this states tournament because it's going to be pretty exciting!:thumb:

I might potentially be there. I'm working out details for the two weekends of States right now, but I hope to attend with several others with me.

To all players that will be going to the Illinois state tournament. We will be having a raffle to give away multiple items.

How it is going to work:

We want all your Pokemon cards. Bring us commons, uncommons, rares, foils, lvl X cards, and primes.

How to get a raffle ticket:

5 foil rares
15 regular rares
50 common and uncommons
(only commons and uncommons from platinum and on please)
ALSO bring us psychic and electric energy! 100-1 ticket

Please no duplicates!!
No duplicates will be accepted.

Now for the prizes!

There will be multiple prizes such as deck box’s and card protectors for prizes. Also we will be giving away gift certificates for Top Cut Comics. The grand prize will be a box of Heart Gold Soul Silver!

Dang Jimmy, I'm loving the sound of all of the side events and raffles you've got planned. For the rares and holos, can those be DP-On? Me and my family combined will probably bring more than 1,000 unused cards for that raffle!

Can't wait. Only 5 more days  Argh, if only the raffle weren't platinum-on for the commons. I have about 1500 commons alone between DP and HGSS

Awww... Vince isn't coming? I was looking forward to lording over the Big Dog for a day ^_^.

I'm excited about the tournament tomorrow....this thread's been kinda quiet.

I see in the rules above "Shiny backs or printed backed sleeves will also not be allowed." Does that include the HGSS Pre-Release sleeves with the characters on the back? Those appear to be both shiny and printed.

I am not staff for this event, but according to the tournament rules, the prerelease sleeves are all legal.
