Yanmega Insight

If a player uses Yanmega's Insight, does his/her opponent "have" to tell the player the number
of cards in his/her hand or is it for the player to work out and remember how many cards his/her
opponent has in hand based on previous turns.

If the opponent does not have to state the number of cards in their hand this could be a way of counteracting Yanmega.

I can't find any rulings on this anywhere.

The number of cards in each players' hands is public knowledge.
If your opponent asks you how many cards you have, you're required to tell them.
Hope I helped :D

Yes, your opponent must tell you how many cards they have in hand because that is considered public knowledge, as is the playing field and the discard pile.

However, neither player may ask the opponent what they have in hand or what they have in their deck because that is private and the only way to know for yourself is to use card effects.

Whether you are playing Yanmega or not, it is ALWAYS a good idea to keep track of the number of cards in your opponent's hand by asking them.

The NUMBER of cards remaining in both decks is actually public, just not the contents. SO you can ask/check the amount, leaving it all face down.
