If I am correct, I would assume that they would not count as "Basic Pokemon" while in your deck, although something that searches for "a pokemon" might or might not work.

I have a casual deck that uses Alakazam 4 LvX and Chansey (the one with Scrunch). Then I use SP pokemon like Drifblm GL (which can shuffle itself back into the deck) and Steelix GL (tons of HP).

They used to. Nowadays I think that is one of the reasons we have parallel holos. Every single card comes in a holo version, problem solved.

Pokedex is the thinner of choice, followed by Drawer +. Other cards to consider using would be Cynthia's Feelings and Volkner's Philosophy. Also, remember that you have options like Quick Ball and Dusk Ball that, while not optimal, are not supporters and therefor can be very effective.

Not true. Non-Ultra Pro brand sleeves are fine as long as they are a solid color and opaque. An example would be Dragon brand, which I happen to use.

There were some Promos in Japan that were "game effect" cards and changed the way you played the game. This was like six+ years ago though.

I agree with No Poke's method of determining whether a card is marked. If you can look at the side, back, sleeves, whatever, and you can tell what it is (or can tell what multiple card are because of similar markings or wear), then they are marked, whether intentionally or not. It's sad that...

I was a Spheal for a long time, but I felt that it was not distinctive enough. I was pleasantly surprised to find Lucky Stadium as an option, as that is one of my favorite cards of all time.
