    National's Coin Manipulation Issue

Why not stop printing cards that require coin flips? Think about Magic: the Gathering. They are still the most successful trading card game today. Cut down on the luck factor. It's not that hard.

    Realistic Metagame for US Nationals

I do not think I can make it to US Nationals, but I will probably take my shot at Grinders this year.

    Realistic Metagame for US Nationals

Hi guys, Not sure if this is the right place, but I hope to get some ideas and generate a discussion on coming up with a realistic metagame for US Nationals for HGSS-on format so that we can playtest. So far, I am thinking something like this: 20% Magneboar 20% Reshiboar (Using Ninetales...

    Jumpluff Swarm (HGSS-on)

I really like Dual Balls over Pokemon Collector. I like to maximize the chance for getting T1 Pichu. I did find Pluspower very useful. Initially, I would think smart players will not go with full Bench, so Pluspower cannot get one-hit KOs on Reshiram. However, since they still need 4-5...

    Jumpluff Swarm (HGSS-on)

I am trying to build a consistent Jumpluff deck that can handle decks such as MagneBoar and Speed Zekrom. POKEMON (21) 4-2-4 Jumpluff 3 Pichu 2-2 Sunflora 2-2 Yanmega TRAINERS (29) Trainers (9) 4 Pokemon Communication 2 Switch 3 Rare Candy Supporters (20) 3 Professor...

    BR Donk Report Thread

Wow, is the format right now that bad? I've been looking to return to Pokemon TCG at some point, but this is really disappointing to hear.

    Current Metagame

Hi everyone, I've read the Featured Article about Jumpluff and that really worries me. I feel that I either have to play Jumpluff or lose. What do you guys think? I did a little bit of soliatire playtesting, and everthing that's been said from the Featured Article on Jumpluff is really...

    Big Guns v. 1.0 (DX-on)

First of all, thanks for all the input so far. I think 2 major Pokemon with Safeguard should be a major concern to most of us - Banette CG and Dustox ex. The other anti-ex Pokemon that could give me problems include Pokemon like Latios ex delta and Deoxys ex (Defense). Notice Latias d or...

    Big Guns v. 1.0 (DX-on)

Hello everyone, I haven't posted for a long time, and I admit that I am a bit rusty with the card game in general. I don't think my deck is completely original, but I hope I did make a serious effort to at least come up with a creative deck. Taken account into very good, obvious...

Deck choices for Grinders - unofficial poll as well

All right guys - thanks for all the replies. I don't think Shedinja's for me. I also 100% certain I won't run Flaridos, because I found better choices this time. I love "cheap" wins, but it's hard to get "cheap" wins - when a majority of decks run Holon Transceiver, Holon Mentor. Well...

Origins Report (Nationals included at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!!)

Thank you for your kind words. I really don't think I am that good - I mean I'm not even qualified to play at Worlds 06. But I think I am juggling several time-consuming interests - namely poker, and performing everywhere. Something inside me says I should "relax" my high expectations a...

Deck choices for Grinders - unofficial poll as well

I don't like wishful thinking. For instance, I know that almost for certain, the deck I choose must be able to beat LBS. That's no mystery. Raichueggs.dec have just enough weaknesses that I can exploit as well. So if I can beat these 2 decks, I think I have a reasonable shot. If I predict...

    Third Time's The Charm...

Wow, didn't even know I played supertyranitar. It was an honor - although I wish we could have a better game. You post good, legit decklists on pokegym, so that's really cool. See you at Worlds.

Deck choices for Grinders - unofficial poll as well

Swoop! Teleporter seems only like a strong play vs. LBS or decks that uses Steelix ex. Let's look at the big picture too, because we can agree Shedinja Stall have specific weaknesses that needs to be taken account of: -Nincada getting sniped by Steelix ex -Latios d/Latias d that shuts down...

Deck choices for Grinders - unofficial poll as well

Gardevoir88: Curse Powder sounds really good, so I'll edit it. Matias: I seriously decided between Mynx, Mewtric, and Flariados. There was no way I'll play LBS, because I want to give myself at least a decent chance to win the whole thing at Nationals. However, Grinders is a different...

Deck choices for Grinders - unofficial poll as well

Hello, I haven't posted on pokegym.net for a while, but it's nice to start a likely legit topic - deck choices for Grinders. I will do my part my contributing the most obvious idea - Shedinja Stall. Please feel free to offer any fixes or comments. Pokemon (10): 4x Nincada DX 4x...

    My US Nationals experience

Sorry, Feraligatr - I think I am quite aware of the risks I take with Flariados. But it's just that 1) I couldn't find something better last minute, and 2) Round 8 loss is a tough loss to swallow. It's all good. Every game was won or lost fair and square.

    My US Nationals experience

Pokemon TCG US Nationals 2006 Greater Columbus Convention Center Columbus, Ohio July 1, 2006 312 in age 15+, over 500 players overall Hello everyone, This is the biggest tournament I've played for a long time. This is also going to be one of the most longest and detailed report I'll...

    Mesa, AZ GC Report

Crawdaunt ex helps against decks with big benches - but it needs to be a surprise to your opponent in order to cripple them. I mean if people know that you run it, they'll play accordingly - speaking of which I probably lay my Corphish down too early vs. Bin in game 1.
