Though I've not redeemed any of my code cards yet, I've always liked the idea that they were accompanied by "physical" cards. When booster credits are phased out by the end of 2014, hopefully, that won't be replaced by the need to buy "vaporware" boosters.

Actually, if you look at the backside of the Garchomp theme deck, the "good" Garchomp is printed, even though you don't actually get that version in the theme deck. If it WERE the good Garchomp, with 2 of them, that might be a decent choice over boosters.

The two McDonalds sets were left off the list. Even though they're reprints, they have their own set symbols and are in the modified format for 2012-2013.

That has been fixed and will migrate to the live site shortly for the new season.

In case no one caught this, there are two McDonalds sets, each with different set symbols. The symbol at the Pokemon.com website announcement only shows the earlier set symbol. My decklist program accounts for both sets.

My PTO only holds 3 rounds of the pre-release, and no side drafts. In the past, we've done theme deck challenges. Do the side-drafts use boosters from the new set? Are the prizes boosters from the new set?
