nope, no one from south america has even Top 4'd worlds since the begining. Gustavo and some others already Top 8'd and 16. By far he deserves winning, coming from a country with just no competition (so he basically has to play with older guys) and no Organized Play support (paid trips, etc)...

gustavo is now halfway to become the first world champ from Brazil, thats amazing.

I think here in my area, Renan Bigarelli (junior) is the biggest winner. Back to 2007-08 season he won 11 battle roads, 4 city champ, 3 states champ, 1 special 32K event and nats (for 2nd time). He ended top32 at worlds 2008

Gustavo Wada is 6-1 on Juniors. The only Brazilian this year and doing amazing job. Hope he wins the title. Its time for the whole world to pay more attention to Brazil. And the funny thing is that Brazil didnt even have nats this year. Hope TPCi give us back more tourneys, prizes and trips.

thats correct. back in 2k7 there were many pokepeople in the same flight from LAX to KOA. We all shared a van and it was something like $18 for each one. :thumb:
