Get a Boxer. They're like a Pit, but a bit more hyperactive, they are EXTREMELY loving and I think that you'd like a Boxer. Also, they have never hurt anyone from what I've read. I had one, sweetest dog ever. She died a few months back, and it broke my heart. One of the saddest days of my life.
