Given the first part of Sylveon's name, my guess is that it's a Metal type. With every other Eeveeloution, the part of the name preceding "eon" has always indicated the Pokemon's type.

As I recall, that Spiritomb usually only lasted until turn two or three against many of the more aggro decks back then (unless your opponent did not prepare their deck to properly counter Spiritomb, that is). On a side note, Spiritomb/Stoutland would be an entertaining deck to use.

Isn't mindlessly burning items to avoid ghetsis the same as just getting hit with one? You're really only preventing your opponent from drawing cards, which they could probably do anyway. I'd burn trainers that I just don't need anymore, but not ones that I might require later in the game.

I agree! For example, having cards like mr Briney's compassion and double rainbow - big effects that don't work on exes - gave a lot of balance to that format.
