The thing here is that Cradily is really hard to set up. You need a succesful Root Fossil to do it (granted, it's easier when you can get it into the discard pile, but still).

Rule changes doesn't seem like a thing that could possibly happen, but I can see your complaint about too much Plasma making the format boring. Of course, with Plasma Cards comes anti-Plasma cards. Silver Mirror from the new Megalo Cannon set prevents damage from Plasma attacks, and I'm sure...

That's losing 2 Prize Cards up front just to set up one attack. The Blastoise-Cofagrigus combo still sounds good, although it can really only be used once or twice, while BK Ballista can keep being used as long as you can keep finding energy, and would still make Blastoise a valuable choice...
