I think it's far too slow. I'd just use Blastoise and Dewgong, and load up on quick draw/distruptive trainers. More traders and breeders are needed to get Blastoise set up turn two.

And they all only cost a quarter, so price isn't a factor.

As long as you can't do things on your opponents turn...that's one of the things I love about Pokemon - on my turn, I get to do what I want!

My wife and I play casually against each other (no league around here) and the "starter" decks were just getting boring and too slow. We bought 3 of the decks, tweaked them, and now we get to play competitive games against each other, for the cost of $30. Pretty cheap entertainment for us!
