151 Mewtwo's Reflective Barrier with Sableye's Lost Mine

If Mewtwo from the 151 set used Reflective Barrier the previous turn and is still in the active spot, would an opposing Sableye's Lost Mine attack (or a Cresselia Moonlight reversal) trigger mewtwo's reflective barrier and do damage to the attacking Sableye or Cresselia?

From another perspective, does the wording "if this Pokemon is damaged by an attack" include attacks with the wording "place damage counters"?

Seems like a weird edge case, and the wording is a bit different from anything I've seen before, so any help or clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: Well, after some better searching, it seems that "placing damage counters" is considered an Effect instead of "doing damage", so I'm pretty sure it would NOT trigger the reflective barrier, and it also seems questions in this vein have been asked a few times before. I'm sorry for asking before researching a bit more closely, so feel free to delete this thread (I'm not sure how to do that from my end haha).

Not an edge case at all. It is a feature of the game that placing damage counters is not the same as doing damage, so things that block one don't block the other.
No reason to delete. It doesn't hurt to touch on the difference every now and then.
