So its 4 in the morning the day of the cities and I've been practicing with Sceptile, and I was like, forget Sceptile i'm playing Gengar.

My deck didn't play any techs or the Level x or Cursegar, simply because, Gengar doesn't need any of that garbage.

so heres my report.

Round 1 (______)

Round 2 (Zach [Z-man] - GG)

I went first, he started with Spiritomb, I started with unown G. Pretty much I wasn't thinking I attached an energy passed. He Attached to a Ralts on the bench. I attached to Unown G and killed Spiritomb because I thought it would be kewl to get a knock out. Which is totally stupid, because I know how gardevoir works with upper energy and junk. So he won this one, after he got the power lock there was little I could do. =/
[1-1]

----

Round 3 (Arizona Guy - Deoxys, Gengar, Hippo 4, seviper?)

Lets just say all I did was shadow room everything until all he had left was a seviper. Which was funny because he barely played trainers so I couldn't poltergeist.

I shadow roomed his seviper and then he used shed skin, then I did the same and he did the same, over and over and over and over and over. >.> finally I tried poltergeist again and he had a couple trainers in his hand and he was weak so it Koed the seviper. =P
[2-1]

----

Round 4 (David - Extreme Mean Honchcrow]

I started with Gastly he started with murkrow I think. He went first and attached. I went second, I managed to set up 2 gengars and claydol on my first turn. I hit Honchrow in the back for three turns so he couldn't use its body to give all the murkrow energyless attacks >.>

After that it was difficult to set up any more, by turn 3 I had all 4 Gengars in play. He got one Ko with Honchrow (Riot) but I flipped heads on fainting spell =[ I kept hitting pokemon such as azelf and chatot till the end.
[3-1]

Round 5 (Josh, Rummage, Hatter, - BlisseyChamp)

Great, I have to play my BF, not that i'm already used to it by now, its just annoying. We were both 3-1, so whoever won this is gonna make top cut.

I forgot what each of us started with. but by turn 3 I had all 4 Gengars out with Claydols and all that jazz and with my resistance to colorless, it was difficult for him.
Fainting spell got him 1or 2 times which was a big help for me.

Top Cut

Top 4 (Arizona Guy - Dusknoir/Cresselia)

Game 1
I think I started with Gastly and he started with Shiny Duskull. He couldn't get set up, I guess he got a clump of energy in his hand in the beginning =/ I got all my normal stuff out gengars and claydols.

After awhile I found out he didn't play any unown G. Which made me not afraid to start hitting baltoys/claydol, since he couldn't guard them after I hit them. I won this one. The game took 25 minutes.

Game 2
This game he did get set up. It was a close battle to the end, he won and I had one prize left. Bronzong is what destroyed me in the end =/ this game took 40 minutes.

Game 3
We had 10 minutes left, I was scared that if he got another start like the last game I would lose. Unfortunately it was a repeat of the first game we had, I he couldn't get set up and got a clump of energy in his hand.

[5-1]

Top 2 (Zach [Z-man] - GG)

Game 1
Since the last game I maxed out the 75 minute limit. Everyone wanted to go home and was uber tired -.-

SO, this time I remembered what happened in our last battle. He started with spiritomb, me with gastly. He went first I beleive an used Spiritomb and attached I think. (bad memory). went and I beleive I got a haunter and a haunter and claydol on the bench. I passed. He went attached and attacked with spiritomb again.

I knew this was going to be my last turn of powers. so I mad the most of it, I ended up getting gengar active, gengar benched, haunter bench, and got looker in my hand to refresh when I was getting low on cards, which btw saved me. and so did cynthias. :] Since my opponent couldn't get passed my power it was difficult, and playing no unown g made it easy to shadow room anything anywhere pretty much 4 6.

Game 2
This game was the same as the first except I did much even better, I made sure to be careful of the first knock out/upper and everything was smooth sailing from there, I never played Roseannes so it was harder on him. He also didn't attach turn 1, so I got a free turn for powers.

Thanxs Everyone :D

Z-man - Don't worry about it, I just wanted to make sure, cuz truthfully I have the funnest games against you, whether I lose or not. like the game with unown g and spiritomb O.0

Hey, I gotta give you props for your admission that "anybody can play Gengar." To be honest, it irritates me when Gengar players discuss it like it's an advanced deck with a tough strategy. It's nice to see someone not trying to grab a lot of credit for playing a deck like Gengar, for once.

Props on your win, of course. A win with any deck is a win.

thanxs, and yeah, I totally had one practice game with this deck at 5 in the morning (which was like 5 hours before the tournament) and then ended up getting 3 hours of sleep and had a stomache ache the next day and everything worked out fine =P
