Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2 Seperate World Championships A Necessary!

Don't jump to conclusions. Yes, POP supplies it's PTOs with judge compensation (in _product_) for _premier events_ like prereleases, city, state, gyms, stadiums. Do not assume that the same thing is in place for local tourneys; judge compensation in these cases is completely up to the individual TO and/or store owner.

This thread has complettely gone a different direction it was ment just to discuss if people thought there should be a seperate Worlds for the Unlimited format, it looks like it has more or less become a verbal war zone lets just go back to the original topic of should there be 2 seperate worlds?

I feel the world championship should equal what the best player should be, good in all three catagories. So, it should start out with a limited tournament, go a few rounds, cut to unlimited, go a few more rounds and top 16 be modified. Thus the winner of worlds is the best in unlimited, modified, and limited and the true best player in the world. I mean, would it sound right for the World Champion to get his or her butt whooped in modified or limited? No. The World Champion should be equally great in all three catagories.

well unlimited should not be part of worlds. it should be contructed(modified) and limited(preferably draft). this way people will not have like an auto-lost cuz they dont have cards from base set, jungle, etc.

I like the idea of combining all 3 formats for worlds. Maybe have like 6 rounds of swiss, and 2 rounds each using the 3 different formats. (Like 1st round modified, 2nd unlitmited, 3rd sealed, 4th, modified, 5th unlimited, and 6th sealed.) Then the top 16/32 should be like some form of draft. (Whether it be regular or rochester.)

And to even add even more fun, get rid of ties for worlds. If a tie happens, play sudden death.

Actually, I personally like what Decipher does with LOTR. (Oh no, here goes SteveP comparing Pokemon with LOTR :/ )

Day 1 of LOTR Worlds. There's 4 tournaments.

1. Open (unlimited).
2. Standard (banned cards).
3. Sealed.
4. Block (modified).

The top percentage from each category (based on attendence in each category) are invited to Day 2 of LOTR Worlds where they all complete in the same selected category. The Top 16 from Day 2 advance to Day 3 where they once again play in the same selected category. Those Day 2/3 categories could be virtually any of the 4 categories, so players MUCH come prepared play with the proper decks. It stresses the ability for the LOTR Champion to be able to adapt to ANY category of deck type.

But this is VERY competitive and would probably be too much for any group other than 15+ or the Professors.

Personally, I'd like to see a return of the Pokemon Professor Championship where the participants do draft, constructed, and rochester.

I'm sure those who will be joining us and communicating in foreign languages will have enough trouble playing in a Modified Constructed tournament.

Yeah, after what BJJ posted, I was ready to call up sensei and ask him where my money was! :p

I wouldn't use the word "paid" when it's product. "Compensated" is more accurate.

I think your idea would definately make sure that our world champ would have to be the best well rounded player and I feel that that would be the only way you can say he is the world champ unless you want to have to add of modified every time you say he or she is the champ.
