I don't think anyone is going to be taking this card seriously. The only thing going for it is the weakness but it doesn't matter seen as it can be easily knocked out by the time you get 4 fighting energy onto it. There are ways to work with it but since it just doesn't have a competitive appeal it's going to be binder candy for formats to come. Seeing as this card isn't going to see serious playability I don't find it necessary to rank it.

Groudon from Call of Legends is a collectible card and nothing more. Its one of the cards that has a special 'shiny' print, making it a must for Pokemon collectors. Its a shame thats all its good for. Four fighting energy for 80 is completely useless. There are many better choices for less energy. A belted Kingdra, Jumpluff, and Luxray GL X can all do 80 for ONE energy. By the time you are able to get 4 energy on this monster you'll be behind. And that assuming he isn't knocked out first. Grass weakness is O-K if you're gonna have one, but I would expect at least some kind of resistance to go with it considering how much time it takes to power up and how low its HP is.

The effect is also risky. Assuming you actually have the time to pull off this expensive attack, you have to flip a coin. If heads, your opponent discards 4 cards on their deck, which could be pretty disruptive. But if tails, YOU lose 4 cards. After spending a minimum of 4 turns powering up, you should just get the effect automatically to go in your favor.

    For Competitive Battles, 2/10
    For Collectors, Shiny print 9/10
    For Collectors, Normal print 7/10

While discarding the top 4 cards of your opponent's deck is fun, the energy requirement is too slow to get Groudon up and running competitively. 100 HP for a basic is good, but this card is too slow and too weak for competitive tournament play.

Pair this up with Nidoking RR and Bibarel SV...dang.

You got one heck of a deck.

    Looses to Rayquaza tho/

Epic Picture on the normal Print. Really bad attack. The only way I could see it would be any good for play is as a t1 wall To block attacks while you set up but it would fail against anything with Garchomp C X or something that can do 100 damage fast.

10/10 For the picture on the normal Print

5/10 for the picture on the shiny print

    1/10 for playability.

Today's COTD is Groudon CoL. It has a good type of fighting, OK weakness, great HP for a basic, and a retreat cost you won't pay in one thousand years. Its only attack costs :fighting::fighting::fighting::fighting:, so it had better do something good, since it only does 80 damage. Unfortunately, it doesn't. If heads, discard 4 from the top of your opponent's deck. If tails, top 4 of YOUR deck. Yeah....

Modified: 1/10- a waste of trees.
Limited: 4/10- No way to get cards from your deck back, unless you get really lucky pulls.

Today's CotD is Groudon from CL in both reg and shiny versions...shame it's useless either way. Statwise 100 HP is great for a Basic, x2 Weakness to :grass: is eh, no Resistance is common (which is a shame as a nice -20 to :lightning: would be much appreciated) and :colorless::colorless::colorless::colorless::colorless: to Retreat means you'll be breaking the bank if you're not utilizing other options to move him. His sole attack, Volcano Stomp, is bad; :fighting::fighting::fighting::fighting: for a mere 80 is overpriced to begin with, and the flip effect isn't that great either (Heads you discard their top 4 cards on their deck, Tails vice versa to your deck). If you're gonna use a Groudon, use the LA one, it's the only good one that's ever been printed besides the Team Magma one.

Modified - 1/10 (Collector bait if you have the shiny, coaster for the regular holo one)
Limited - 5/10 (Eh, good meat shield, though I'd stay away from using his attack unless you have to)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here, extremely bad attack and the HP is a non-factor)

Not that good of a card.
The artwork is nice but that's the only good thing about it.
