Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2015 Midwest Pokemon Regionals May 29th-31st

Midwest Regional Championship Weekend

This event is open to all players and is run using the Swiss pairing format. Regional Championships are a great place to show off the power of your decks strategy and showcase your play skills! The top players of the Regional Championship are awarded prizes for showcasing the skills needed to do well in such a large event.

When preparing for a Regional Championship Tournament make sure you have a Deck that is ready to play in a competitive sanctioned tournament. To do this first check that your Deck complies with the current Standard Rules and Format Regulations. After checking your cards are legal for play, you will then need to fill out a DECKLIST!

If you are using sleeves be sure they are all the same color and size. Damaged sleeves will NOT be allowed for this event. Shiny backs or unapproved printed backed sleeves will also not be allowed.

Hope this will help answer some questions....

My son is 7 and super excited to play, the problem is he takes a long time to shuffle and often needs help. Is this something that I could help him with or judges have to do?

Tiga, as it says above in the post, VG is on Saturday, Check in from 9:30 to 11am, Finals on Sunday. All the details are up there, and there's even a link to Registration there too.

huck1eberry, sorry but parents are not allowed in the player areas, so you will not be able to help him. But it's a fairly common issue for younger kids, as the Junior division Judges are aware. Try teach your son to do a 6 pile shuffle maybe? Sometimes that's easier for the younger ones. :thumb:

Just curious:

I understand that 4-6 pm is when registration is open for side events that require it on Friday night, but how late will League Play and vendors be open/around tomorrow evening?

I've managed to get up one of the interviews I did, this one with the winner of the VGC Masters Division:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67OhOY_lgNQ

We discuss his team, the event, and some of the plushes he brought along with him. I have another interview with one of the Top 4 TCG Masters players that I hope to get up in the next week.

(Update) And here's that interview:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMSN7sIffPU

This is with one of the top 4 masters division players that used a very broadly-based deck.
