Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

announcement European Challenge Cup 2012

Hello,

I am pre-registered and about to book my flight (woop woop) but i have a couple questions:

(i) Where can i find information online regarding train timetables and prices from Amsterdam to Arnhem?

(ii) Can you (or anyone) recommend some cheap and convenient hotels in Arnhem (or Amsterdam for that matter).

Trying to finalise arrangements but can't find train info or any hotels in Arnhem for cheaper then 70 Euro (unless i share a room with 5 strangers!!)

Cheers

If you contact the Postillion hotel in Arnhem I know that they have rooms for less than 70 euro (2 personroom appr. 64 euro, for 2 nights booked it will be probably 60 euro a night, all including breakfast) when you notify them that you come for the Pokémon tournament and the organisation has recommended the hotel. I have also put my staff there and recommend it to all players to transform it over there into a "Pokémon hotel":nonono: Anyway people can better organise carpooling when all staying at the same hotel

For those interested:
- registrations from 17 countries already :thumb:
- over 150 preregistrations counted this week :thumb:
- Master division closing in on kicker 128, so Championship points for top 64 within reach :thumb:
- Senior division close to Top 8 :thumb:
- Junior division passed Top 4, halfway top 8 now :thumb:

What will Europeans think when the eurocup trophy leaves Europe?

I do not know what the Europeans think, but I would gladly hand it over to the best player of the tournament in each division whoever he/she might be! A photograph of the trophy (with print in colour!) can be seen at the www.pokemon-organizedplay.nl site.

At this moment we are heading up to 250 preregistrations!

- Master division distinctly passed kicker 128, so Championship points for top 64 :thumb:
- Senior division distinctly passed kicker 32, so Championship points for top 12 :thumb:
- Junior division crawling to Top 8 (where are the ambitious young players?)

Is there some sort of European Pokegym where people are discussing this event and I'm missing out? I can't believe this has gotten so little attention.

I think most European countries are splintered or something.

Pretty much so. I guess most people are discussing the tournament in their own countries, not in any international forums. After all, Europeans are pretty quiet here on the Gym as well.

Would it be possible to record some of the interesting matches for a non-official online coverage? Same has already been done by the top cut in the US and can help new players to understand the game better.

Of course, we wouldn't view the videos until the end of the tournament and also wouldn't access the camera without a judge watching, so there's no scouting.

Prize materials have been upgraded a bit for 1st and 2nd place. See post #1

Player number still rising at preregistration, heading up to 300.
SR division now slowly reaching a possible TopCut 16. Will we make it?

How many Juniors are already on the list ?

Will they reach TOP8 ?

best regards

JN (aka JabbaJindrich)

If there will be a few more juniors preregistrating we will, but I am affraid this goal will not be reached. Seniors are almost at Top16.
At this moment almost 300 preregistrations are recorded.

I really hope someone can do this but from my experience HaPe and team aren't all that happy about spectators, since they could apply pressure on the people playing, so I can't imagine they'd be very happy about a camera either. Still crossing my fingers on this one cause it would be really amazing if someone provided coverage.
