Austin Battle Road

So I head to the local store on Sunday, thinking there would be normal league.
Got there a bit early, and found that the Battle Road was going on.

It must have gotten started rather late, cause I only missed one round.
They offered a spot in the tournament, so I said "why not".

Thankfully I tend to carry around several decks when I go to league.
So I picked the one that had the "best" cards, my Team Plasma deck.

So I lost the first round (since I missed it).
Then proceed to lose the second (should have not played N) with no Pokemon left.
Then I played a really new guy (had a starter deck with a couple of Kyurem stuck in) & won.
Then another new guy by time-limit win (I took more prizes).
Then the last game was a loss by time-limit cause he got a prize on the very last turn (we were even).
So 2-3.

Not too shabby for being caught totally off guard with this.

Overall it had good attendence, with lots of people in all age categories.
Though it was also kinda crowded since there was some Magic booster draft thing going on as well.

From what I saw only a few people were running that "killer" deck.
I saw at least one Blastoise & A few Eeveelution decks.

I will post the decklist if requested.

good showing for not knowing it was happening. Glad to know that you are still playing.

Thanks!

Yes I still play, as usual it's mostly for fun.
Since I am still on a bit of a budget (living on my own for the last 4 years).
So I can't be like "Mr. Suitcase" and have all the best cards.

Still like to make strange & unusual decks.
I'm sure you remember some of those...
In fact I made a somewhat updated version of the "Azumanga Daioh" deck.
You know the one with all the cat-looking Pokemon.

Plus I made a deck with the 3 little monkeys (Sear, Sage, Pour).

I still have the older decks built of the "Spooky" deck (all ghosts), and the "Godzilla" deck (Pokemon that look similar to Godzilla).
Yes both are unlimited decks (Spooky is all Diamond/Pearl era stuff, Godzilla is all HeratGold era).

I suppose I could have tried my variation of GarTaria (with Haxorous & Garchomp).

BTW not sure if you noticed my congratulations to Sarah!
That's pretty cool that she is ranked so high!

Hey EricDent so you remember who all you play like names? I don't think I played you but I just wanted to make sure. if you can't its fine. I might of been playing you one match of the round. it was amazing to finally come down and play, meet new people in the Process.

Not sure, sorry.

Though if you played a guy playing these cards, that was me.
