BCS-Wire Time!!!

lucky? psssh. i dont think you actually watch all the games. or the game that had transpired. i think i'm one of the select few of ppl that actually watch every single conference game. and is the least opinionated about college football.

but mizzou is a pretty good mature team with chase daniel. i think the weather played a huge factor in the first half for Kansas. but ultimately. mizzou did tack on the most total yards so you have to give it to them.

keys to the game for mizzou against oklahoma: DONT TURN THE BALL OVER ON THE 4TH QUARTER.

other than that. let's give them the national championship trophy after they beat whoever.

and kansas should have only dropped to 4 in the bcs rankings. but w/e. there are still some games left to be played.

They say BCS rankings is not about who you lost to and how much, its the time of season when you lose, apparently that doesnt hold true Kansas who hardly moved at all when they lost. Yet a team like Ohio St who is done for the season keeps moving up without playing.

The BCS championship cant be taken seriously.

Seriously. This year was the funniest/worst year for the BCS ever. It just proves that College Football needs a Tournament to really settle the national championship

OK, West Virginia probably won't lose to Pitt (though, that Unranked beating #1/2 thing is starting to become an epidemic), but Mizzou losing to Oklahoma, there's definitely a shot there.

Or, to REALLY muck with the standings, both WV AND Mizzou lose, and it's Ohio State vs. Kansas for the National Championship! Or even have Hawaii in the mix, as the only Undefeated team left in the country!!!

lol, ummm, How can the weather play a part in what happened to KU?
It seems Mizzou may have had the same weather, so theres no excuse there. I am assuming you mean the wind made the field goals go wide, and you would be right but, any decent field goal kicker could figure out that he has to kick the ball farther out to compensate for the wind. I can safely say that I would of made those field goals(I can kick a ball pretty far).

I do agree with you on the key to the next game, thats what costed them the last time they played them. I also agree that when Mizzou beats Oklahoma, no team can compete with Mizzou in the National title game, Poor WV, they don't know what will hit them!!!

I may not be an authoirty on Football but, I do know what I am talking about:thumb:

Theirs some teams that can compete with them, but they dont have the chance to. I bet this year any of the top SEC teams or PAC10 teams could of destroyed whoever lands up at the Top 2 for the NC.

I agree with Kazam Bolt that Hawaii won't be in the championship mix. The BCS system is not supportive of winning all your games, more on your geography. They will get their BCS bowl if they beat Washington.

lol, if you say so.....:lol::lol::lol:

I dunno about the Pac-10, since I don't think any team but USC could compete for the NC after what they did to ASU and Oregon losing Dixon. But I think the SEC is 5 deep in teams that are national title contenders. They are easily the class of the nation, and the reason they don't go to the NC game often is because they just continually beat up on each other. I don't think any SEC team had less than 2 losses in conference this year. Look at LSU, they are being kept out of the National Title game because they lost on the road in Triple OT, and because they lost to a team with the best player in the nation in Triple OT. Somehow this doesn't seem fair to me.

LSU is the best team, but whats held them back is Les Miles coaching, watch LSU against ranked teams all year and you would see some of the most horific play calling I ever seen. 12 secs to go, 3rd down on about 25-30 yard line, against Auburn......................... Flynn back to pass......... TOUCHDOWN!!!

Players overcoming the stupid play calling is why LSU got as far as they did.

GOD. I hate Les Miles. I love Hester, Byrd, heck, even Matt Flynn. But Les Miles or SOMEBODY has really really bad play calling.

Their defense could NOT stop Arkansas in overtime. GAH. Now I just hope Hawaii isn't going to the Sugar Bowl if we even make it!

Also, I'd like to complain about LSU being below Georgia and VT. We beat VT by more than 30 points and we still can't hold a rank ahead of them? Amazing.

ONCE MORE WITH CHORUS!

The BCS is goin' down, down, down!

I didnt understand how VT got ranked ahead of LSU. Really I dont see how Georgia is so high ranked either. This years NC game though is just not even worth watching, I hope LSU plays someone descent in a bowl game though, I been waiting for a LSU vs USC matchup.

LSU lost, they deserve to drop, VT won, they deserve to move up in the ranks, thats how it is. Build a bridge and get over it!!!!
I do agree though with you on Georgia, thats just sad. I feel really bad for Hawaii because they are undefeated and they may not get a BCS bowl. I do hope that when they go to a bowl game and play against a decent team, they will get waxed so that I don't feel sorry for Hawaii no more.

Just a tidbit- Missouri is the 3 point underdog against Oklahoma, I am a Mizzou die hard fan but, I find this a little weird for the #1 ranked team in the nation to be the underdog against Oklahoma, major LOLzzz

I've long since given up on trying to figure out anything related to college football this year. Might as well flip a coin.

Problem is VT lost 2, LSU lost 2, and LSU beat VT yet VT is ranked ahead of LSU. Georgia is a 2 loss team thats lost to 2 UNRANKED opponents this season and they ranked way up there at #4.

Kansas who has only beaten 1 ranked team this season, (#24 Kansas State) Loses to the 1 Top 10 ranked team they faced all season, and they barely drop from what #2? to #5?

Then we got Ohio St who never faces anyone worth mentioning still moving up without actually playing anyone, they could face a team like Florida international 10 times a season and get ranked #1 for doing it.

The only team at the top thats really any deserving is West Virginia, but the only way WV is going to win the NC is if they face Ohio St, because Ohio St sucks bad and would lose to any top 10 team.

I think the SEC Title game has more legitimancy for being the NC game then the BCS NC game does.

I think the problem with college football is in the case of the SEC is too many in conference games, big money schools like Ohio St, USC, and such can schedule so many weak schools and beat up on them and apparently it makes the AP, Harrison Poll, and BCS all drool on how "Elite" they are beating schools with no talent.

Then theirs a problem in which Bob Stoops complaining about that some schools can get into a NC game without playing a conference championship such as the conference Ohio St is in, and Pac10 where teams like USC is.

I have always hated the AP polls, but I think this year they have been a little more accurate on rankings then what the BCS has done.

The BCS since it started has pretty much did only one thing, make whoever wins this stupid thing nothing more then paper champs.

Here's how I'm thinking the BCS bowl games are going to end up looking:

Sugar Bowl:

LSU (SEC Champ) vs. Hawaii (At-Large/WAC Champ)

Fiesta Bowl:

Oklahoma (Big-12 Champ) vs. Florida (At-Large)

Rose Bowl:

USC (Pac-10 Champ) vs. Illinois (At-Large)

Orange Bowl:

Virginia Tech (ACC Champ) vs. Georgia (At-Large)

BCS National Championship

Ohio St. (Big-10 Champ) vs West Virignia (Big East Champ)

I really think Oklahoma will beat Missouri in the Big-12 title game. Stoops is a big game coach who will have his guys ready and Oklahoma has always played well in the conference title game (other than the year Sproles and co. ran them over. @ KSU). I don't think the Big 12 can then get 2 teams into the BCS, since the Orange Bowl will take the best 2 loss team by far in the country (Georgia) to make a for a great regional match-up, not to mention intriguing, in Miami. Rose Bowl takes the Illini since they keep the Big 10 vs. Pac 10 tradition whenever possible. Hawaii ends up @ the Sugar Bowl because they will get LSU after it wins the SEC, and I really think Florida, despite 3 losses, ends up getting the other at large. They fill the seats and bring a great tradition to any bowl game. The other choices really aren't that great to be honest in my mind (Boston College, Arizona St., Clemson, probably BYU). Florida will get the nod over any of these schools. The only way that doesn't happen is if Oklahoma plays Hawaii in the Fiesta Bowl, then Mizzou will go to the Sugar Bowl to play LSU. That would be kinda cool to see Oklahoma play the "BCS Buster" two years running. Although I'm sure they'd appreciate it if someone else took a turn.

Thats flawed

Because I dont think 3 teams from 1 conference can play in the BCS bowls, its only 2 which will most likely be LSU and Georgia.

Florida will be left out of the BCS Bowl bid.

But if Missouri loses in the title game to OU, I am ready to crown West Virginia the champions, because I doubt Ohio State (which has barely won the games it has this year over weak opponents) is going to beat WV.

But I am interested in seeing what Bob Stoops does in the title game to, I think alot of the crap going down in college football is rigged anyway, but I have an idea Stoops may end up throwing the title game so Missouri can go to a NC game and hopefully keep Ohio St out, thats because Ohio State dont play a conference championship game like everyone else does, and Stoops dont like the idea some teams can get into a NC game without playing a conference championship. I dont want to see another game in which Ohio St will be blown out again which will most likely happen.

Quick question:

How in the HECK is Florida (9-3) ranked ahead of Hawaii (11-0)?

I dont know

what gets me is how they rank Kansas in the top 5 for beating a 23rd ranked Kansas St team, Hawaii ranked not even in the top 10 and they beat I think it was a 19th ranked Boist St team, yet they still undefeated, Kansas who lost to Top Ranked Mizzou is still in the top 5.
