Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

BCS-Wire Time!!!

Everything pretty much turned out as expected. Here are the matcups:

Rose Bowl:

USC vs Illinois

Fiesta Bowl:

Oklahoma vs West Viriginia

Orange Bowl:

Virginia Tech vs Kansas

Sugar Bowl:

Georgia vs Hawaii

BCS Championship Game:

LSU vs Ohio State

Mizzou kills itself by forgetting to board the flight to San Antonio. They looked completely uninspired against Oklahoma. Virginia Tech ends up with the highest ranking in the computers, but voted #5 and #6 respectively in the polls, so it just didn't quite have the juice to get in over LSU. We have the potential for some ugly games in the Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl, and Championship game. It'll be interesting to see how it all turns out now. OSU has 51 days between games, let's see if it affects them the same way it did last year.

Meh...no ASU? I mean, I think according to the local paper, they still have a 10-2 record after beating UA and were tied with USC for the PAC 10 championship or whatever...

its gonna be a great bowl season.

Illinois makes it to the Rose Bowl? Really... I mean I like the fighting illini. They're a really good team from a really good conference but they're 9-3. because ohio state goes to the national title game, the big 10 spot reserved for the rose bowl goes to the illini. i think its gonna be a great opportunity for juice williams to show the world what big 10 football is all about.

and i'm really liking kansas in the orange bowl. they're playing that in sunny miami florida. so weather isnt going to be a factor for my main man todd reesing. (and vegeta, to explain my prior comment in the big 12 North championship game, the cold weather really adversely affected todd reesing. cause he had to wear gloves which he isnt used to wearing and that affected his throwing motion. and reesing is a short guy. so he cant throw it all that high. plus add that to tipped passes frequency increasing in cold weather. so that yields into turnovers. which played a huge factor in the game)

and i'm liking the fact that the hawaii warriors made it to a bcs bowl. they're the only undefeated. And virtually everyone else has 2 losses. so good focus on their part in winning their conference. i think wac is one of those conferences that is on the rise ever since boise state won against oklahoma last year. hook and ladder. wow.

!@@##$ LSU.

No-one overwhelmingly deserves to go to the championship game, every team in the top 10 has some reason to not be in the big game, and don't get me started on LSU or Ohio State.

Illni playing MY USC? I'd rather see a more deserving team make it.
Kansas gets a bowl game and not mizzou? inexcusable.

OK, the Illini probably won't win that game against USC. They were FIRED against OSU, who they should've beaten last year and could've beaten two years ago, plus losing to Michigan lit something under them that I haven't seen out of this team probably since 2001. That being said, a lot of that fire goes out with a 2 month layoff. I just want to see Mendenhall go for 100+ on the ground. That happens, and I'm happy. Illinois keeps it close, I'm ecstatic. Illinois wins, I look for the payoff.

My dad and I still say that Oklahoma v. West Virginia is the best looking game there.

Well if we went by the teams thats hot right now and forget the earlier season, the best matchup would of been USC vs Oklahoma or Oklahoma vs Georgia.

But someone pointed out this to, since the BCS came to be, if a playoff system was implemented, the SEC would of won 7 out of 10 times, the only time they wouldnt win is when USC ran the table for a couple years and Nebraska.

In the days before overtime LSU would have been 1 or 2 based on its no loss record. Unwritten rule keeps Georgia out. If you listen to the experts in Vegas they have big money on LSU to win the game. Hawaii beat as many top 25 teams as Ohio did. Hawaii would have played and beat more but the big schools are scared to put them on the schedule. Texas had Hawaii on the schedule but backed out of the contract cause they knew they had to schedule a cupcake game much like Ohio and Kansas did. If the little 10 and the pacman 10 want to prove to the world that they want to play for the championship and not just the rosethorn bowl then they too will play a conference championship. For its win against Kansas missouri gets to go to the toilet bowl.

I dont think Hawaii would do anything, they might be undefeated, but most of their wins was ugly against very bad competition.

In Sugar Bowl, it will be;

Georgia 49
Hawaii 17

Thats about how the game is going to go for Hawaii.

I like Georgia FTW but just remember Boise State vs. Oklahoma. Then again Georgia is out to prove they belong in the big one. Guess they should not have lost to tennessee which lost to L S U.

The difference between Boise St and Hawaii is Boise St didnt have many close call games, Boise St was for real last season, most of the games they played were blow outs to. Hawaii not so much. They have Colt Brennan, but thats the only reason they are winning, you shut down Brennan, and Hawaii becomes nothing.

LMAO, Chase Daniel was in the same boat. He had to wear gloves and the temperature affected him, so you can just say that it afeected Reesing lol. Chase Daniel is very short as well, Chase and Todd both grew up in Texas so they are both used to Texas weather. The cold weather made NO difference to the factor of the game.

Mizzou got so jiffed.....The Cotton Bowl is going to be ugly because Mizzou is gonna win that soooo easily. KU gets in with a crappy schedule and they lost to missouri. This just goes to show that the BCS syste, is just too political.

Also, on a side note, why is there only 2 conferences that have a Conference championship game? I feel that if there is to be a Vonference Championship game then, ALL CONFERENCES SHOULD HAVE ONE. Either they all have 1 or they all have none, it just isn't fair.

There's actually 5 conferences that have a championship game:

SEC
Big XII
ACC
MAC
Conf-USA

Also, the BCS is sending a bad message unfortunately: Schedule a bunch of cupcakes, hope your conference has a down year, and you're playing for the National Championship! Or if you you're not a BCS school, just schedule 2-3 FCS schools so you go undefeated and you're in a BCS game.

Because the AP and Harris Polls decides everything, the BCS Formula which is whats used is only a 3rd of the rankings established in the BCS, basically a couple weeks of this, they could put any team desired into Top 2, if Harris and Ap wanted to, they could say UCLA is the best and about 2-3 weeks of saying that, they would be #1 or #2 in the BCS.
