Blisters VS Boosters

Aren't blister packs packed at random? Boxes & cases are "rigged" to get a certain amount of key cards.

Correct.

Hence why I've always been told, and have come to believe, that pull rates for Ultra Rare cards a lot better, but much more unpredictable, in blister packs.

Eww!

But I mean I knew that I'd have bad luck with boosters...
Now to update my trade thread....

I wasn't hoping for anything spectacular.
Just maybe an EX that I seem to keep getting...
xD Registeel and Hooh for life xD

Bad luck with 8 boosters, probably because i bought at different stores and it was 6DGX and 2 DEX

2 holos (1 Garchomp), 2 Rescue scarf, 1 Sableye reverse, 1 Juniper, 1 WLFM, 2 GRPD

Still those are pretty good pulls.
Where did you buy them at? Local card shops?

1 Garchomp is still $10, if you bought them for $2.50... then I mean, you are halfway outta the hole~!

egg. Its all in canadian, thats why the packs are expensive
2 for 8.96, (4.00 plus tax)
3 for 4.50
3 for 10.96 (3.25 plus tax)

Ill probably buy from the store that sells for $3.25 a pack, I tend to get good stuff from that store

I wanna work my way to $100 store credit using Trollandtoad and Amazon (via swagbucks) combined, to get 36 blister packs of Exalted. (just for a higher pull rate of ultra rares) I wanna complete the set.
OR maybe a booster box. im not sure yet.

I rarely do that. Walmart does 4.99 (5.59 inclusing tax.) in canada. Toys r us sometimes does a 25% off so im paying 4.19 inclusing tax per pack.
so its like buying them in Oregon.

I haven't seen a booster back NOT in a blister pack in ages! I'd love to buy a whole booster box at some point though... but I do still like the blister packs as well because I feel like it's a little 'safer' lol.

For anyone who cared to read, I recently made a thread about PTCGO pull rates, and a member here posted the following

We are used to packs from booster boxes, or loose packs in moderation as part of a single shipment. An example of the latter would be the blister packs you find in Target. Thus, we expect a certain degree of ORDER to our pulls. For instance, we don't expect to get four EXs from five packs, and we don't expect to pull three Mews before we pull a Terrakion. In TCGO, this is disrupted, because every possible pack combination is in a giant pool. You would get this same seeming lack of randomness if you were to take every single English DRX booster pack and throw them into a swimming pool, mix them up, and take out a group of fifty.

I feel this "rule" is the same that dictates the pull rates for blisters, which is why people get crazy pull rates at times.

As an aside, I was brought 3 DEX blisters. One was opened, I opened the other and a Groudon EX FA popped out. Didn't bother opening the other

I've had pretty good luck with blisters. I've pulled Magnezone Prime, Zekrom EX, and more recently Giratina EX from blisters purchased at Walmart.
