Saturday:
I wake up at 5:30 AM, and wait for my friend James to get to my house. We're going down to Bellevue to play a BR there, then on Sunday going up to Marysville for another BR before returning to Vancouver. I ordered some cards, among them Tornaduses and Groudons, from Troll and Toad. Unfortunately, they did not arrive in time, so James doesn't even have a deck and I have to play Eelectrik with Terrakions and no new EXs. Oh well, hopefully it'll work out.
So we get to the store with like 20-30 minutes left to build a deck for James from scratch and get me some Tynamos and Lightnings. Tyler lends me Tynamos and some other cards (still need to give those back to you, sorry!), and we manage to build a bad Celebi list for James in around 10-15 minutes, after trying to borrow an entire deck didn't work out. We register, and get ready to play. Seniors have 4 Rounds with a Top 2 Cut.
Round 1 vs. Ian W. w/ Darkrai
Close game. I don't get a Tynamo until Turn 5, and an Eelectrik till Turn 8, and I N him into the perfect hand, but I manage to bring it down to 2-2 Prizes, but he hits the Catcher for game. GG.

I get a T2 Retaliate/PP kill on Smeargle. Big turning point was when he Portraits, and I have no Supporters, but next turn I topdeck PONT. Soooo goooood! Anyways I sweep with Terrakion for 5 Prizes until he N's me, but I manage to get the outs to take another Prize. GG.

This game is almost as intense as the game I played against this same player from Oregon States. We start off, him with Tornadus to my lone Zekrom. He Skyarrow, DCE, Eviolite, 60. I DCE, PP, Juniper, Junk Arm for the PP and win. GG Liam!

He goes, draws Tornadus, Bench DCE pass. I topdeck N, so I have to reset us both. We both get decent stuff, I just pass with Shaymin Active. He kills my Shaymin, I N him to 5 and Night Spear. He doesn't get anything else and I take 6 Prizes really quickly. GG.

Game 1: All these games are pretty similar. Basically I 2HKO his stuff, he 2HKOs mine, I can kill Celebis too, which he can only hit my Active. I win Game 1, probably pretty close, most of these games are. GG.

Game 2: Pretty similar, I should've won but made a stupid misplay, I forget I had Switch in the discard so I could Switch Smeargle, Retreat Mewtwo to Darkrai... instead I try to SSU and flip two tails. So he gets Mewtwo and wins. GG.

Game 3: Same as Game 1, except this game he gets out TErrakion. I 90 his Tornadus EX and 30 his Terrakion with the PP/Catcher in hand... unfortunately he N's me to 4 and I no longer have it. After Smeargle and my own Supporter I manage to hit the PP, Junk Arm for Catcher discarding N so he couldn't POrtrait it. He doesn't N me and I take game next turn. GG.

Game 3: I'm forced to discard a Mewtwo and a Shaymin early, and late game I'm unable to get Mewtwo + DCE to return kill his Mewtwo that has enoguh Energy to kill Darkrais. Last turn I'm really tired and I Night Spear when I should've just not attached to have one more chance at getting the Mewtwo with Smeargle + my topdeck, but oh well. I lose, GG.

So pretty successful weekend, got 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Friends did well too, Kevin won Sunday, CJ won Monday, James came 2nd Sunday and Cor came 3rd Sunday, Ricky came 3rd Monday. Overall great weekend, now I get to not play Pokemon for another week. Whoo!

So Ricky did well with Klinklang the week before, and it looked really cool, so I wanted to try it out. I didn't think I'd make it to any BRs this week, so I was planning on using it on the 9th. However, Friday night baseball gets cancelled, and I manage to get a ride with Bidier (thanks again =D) to Seattle! Whoo! Last minute we manage to get Kevin and Ricky to come with us. Anyway, I decide to play Klinklang without any real prior testing other than one mirror match.
So we get to the place at like 8 AM, I'm running on 3 hours sleep, which is a lot for our group; Bidier and Ricky didn't sleep at all and Kevin got like an hour. Yeah we're going to win today. T_T Anyways the store doesn't open till 9:30, so we wait in Starbucks. Ian shows up, Kittens in the Blender follows, and the store opens.
Unfortunately, we didn't know we had to Pre-Register, so we were put on a waiting list. We were like 12, 13, 14, 15 on the list so we didn't think we'd actually get in... but then we do! Whoo! I quickly write my list and eventually ROund 1 starts.
12 Seniors, so 4 Rounds Top 2.
Round 1 vs. Alan N. w/ Eel/Terrakion
I get off to a good start, except two Klinks are Prized, and I only use 3. Oh boy, really regretting cutting the 4th ATM. I manage to get Double Smeargle going; however, despite going through 3 PONTs/Ns/Junipers every turn for the first couple I miss the Candy/Klinklang. Luckily he never kills my Klink and I get a T4 Klinklang or so. I kill a Tynamo with a Terrakion I believe and take the first Prize, but he Catchers up my Darkrai with Eviolite, PP and Retaliate KO. It has a Prism on it, so I promote Kyurem EX and Frozen Wings, preventing him from Land Crushing or doing anything important with that TErrakion, even if he does have the Prism. He attaches Prism and Retliates again, I believe I Bench Darkrai now, Retreat and Land Crush. It's tied up now, and I manage to kill a Mewtwo with Kyurem, doing Frozen Wings + Hail Blizzard. Time is called and he can't get enough Energy on Mewtwo to KO anything, so I win. GG.

While he's shuffling, I see Twins and Metal, so I think it's mirror except he plays Twins. I think this is good for me, I'll get a more consistent set up and can take the lead when I like. I had completely forgotten Durant was a deck, so when he flips over Durant I thought to myself "Ohhh right, THAT deck. Ugh." Luckily, he doesn't have too much other than Twins, and I manage to set up Dakrai. Unfortunately I started with Klink so I had to set up Klinklang too, but it ended up being okay. He misplays with Twins IMO by getting Revive/Lost Remover rather than Lost Remover/Twins or Lost Remover/Draw Supporter, because after he doesn't draw much of anything. I have 7 cards left in my deck when I win. GG.

Round 3 vs. Ian W. w/ Darkrai/Tornadus
This was a really close game. He goes first and gets a T2 NIght Spear on an Eviolited Darkrai and 30 to a Klink, which puts me in a bad situation to start. Then I can't get a Klinklang out, so he kills both my Klinks in play. I am in a horrible situation right now! I Catcher up his Darkrai on his Bench without Eviolite and Retaliate for a kill, while Benching my last Klink. He kills it and does 30 to my Terrakion I believe. I Land Crush and get an Eviolite on my Terrakion, missing the Plus Power unfortunately. He puts me to 100 damage and does 30 to my other TErrakion, which has a Prism. I Max Potion my Benched Terrakion, attach again, and KO his Darkrai. He KOs my Active Terrakion, making the game 2-2. I promote my Terrakion, Max Potion Darkrai which still had 70 on it (removing any out he had of KOing it), Catchering a Smeargle and KOing it with Retaliate. My Prize was the PP I was looking for, which makes my hand PP and PONT. He has a Smeargle on the Bench that I need to KO to win. All he does is do 100 with Tornadus EX. I topdeck nothing, PP and PONT. I need a Catcher or Junk Arm to win, I have like 3 left in my pretty thin deck. I hit the Junk Arm and win. GG.

Well, I get the best start possible - T2 Klinklang going first and get a Retaliate kill on his Tynamo. He can't really recover after that, I sweep pretty easily. GG.

Whooo, so I'm in Top 2 for sure. Alan, Ian, and Kevin are all 3-1, but Kevin is most likely to get in. He does, and so I had to play against Eel again in Top 2. We hand our decks in but we have to wait for MAsters to finish. Ian and I go get some awesome frozen yogurt from this fantastic place that I forget what it's name is, and then we head back. A game of Kittens in a Blender and much waiting around follows, and eventually I sit down for Top 2!

Game 1: I forget what happened in this game, I didn't get near as good a start as I did though because he N'd my T2 Klinklang away. I still manage to win 6-2. GG.
Game 2: This was a pretty close game too. He gets off to a MUCH better start than me, but then I set up and start to come back. I make it really close, but he hits the Catcher to win right before I could charge up Kyurem EX to kill his DCE and then his Mewtwo. GG.
Game 3: Once again, I forget most of this game. I think it was a lot like Game 1 though. GG.

Whooo, so I'm in Top 2 for sure. Alan, Ian, and Kevin are all 3-1, but Kevin is most likely to get in. He does, and so I had to play against Eel again in Top 2. We hand our decks in but we have to wait for MAsters to finish. Ian and I go get some awesome frozen yogurt from this fantastic place that I forget what it's name is, and then we head back. A game of Kittens in a Blender and much waiting around follows, and eventually I sit down for Top 2!
Top 2 vs. Kevin N. w/ Eel
Game 1: I forget what happened in this game, I didn't get near as good a start as I did though because he N'd my T2 Klinklang away. I still manage to win 6-2. GG.
Game 2: This was a pretty close game too. He gets off to a MUCH better start than me, but then I set up and start to come back. I make it really close, but he hits the Catcher to win right before I could charge up Kyurem EX to kill his DCE and then his Mewtwo. GG.
Game 3: Once again, I forget most of this game. I think it was a lot like Game 1 though. GG.
