Both players and staff hope for a good start at their tournament. This week's Broken Trainers looks at the start of the Big Tournament. At least one person is happy with it!

rofl, this is a perfect representation of the El Segundo city championship...really...20 minutes of new rules...4 total repairings...wow.

I remember when my daughter first started playing (she was 6) she was playing a 13 year old.

Toward the end of the game, I told my wife to look at the face of young man she was playing.

"That" I explained, "is the look of a boy who is trying to figure out how to tell his friends how a 6-year
old girl handed his butt to him."

The 20-minute later frame struck a chord with me.

What's on the guy's had in the 10-minute frame?

Again, so accurate it's not even funny. Have you been looking at recent tourney reports for all your material? Or just personal experience?

Actually just personal experience. ^_^ Some good advice I've received says "Write what you know." I've been at several tourneys where this has happened.

The US Nats last year was totaly the worst. . .

We started 3 Hours late with two repairings and it took them like 40 Minutes to pair each round
(there was like seven).

We fineshed around one in the morning.

And yes I lost pretty bad (could'nt figure out what to play)

Wow, this reminds me of the pairings at the CC on Sunday. Father against son, 10- playing 15+, etc etc...

Actually its mostly used to express a "you can't be serious. . ." type of emotion. I'm pretty sure you knew this, I'm just clarifying for everyone else.
Really?
I don't have a clue.
I learned the "english" comic shorthand where sweat drops are called "Plets"

omg this has happend to me b4 XD.i played against this little kid and i am sad to say i got stuck with a wobbofut and he beat the heck out of me... : (

The stampede.. God, that's so accurate. It's best just to wait nearby the Pairings area, see who you're up against and what table, then get out of there. lol

I swear that happened a this year's FL State Championship. I hate it when it happens - really messes with my ch'i.

- Croatian "don't leave me with that guy!" Nidoking
