Some of my friends have started buying Japanese boxes instead of English when the set's come out in America. I think that it's a great idea. Let's compare:

    Japanese Box
20 packs of ten cards in each pack
    Each pack contains a holo
3 LV X's in each box

36 packs of ten cards each
    Each pack contains a rare
1 LV X garunteed in each box (in most cases)

From this analysis you can see that though you get 16 less packs in the Japanese boxes, overall, it seems like you get quite a few more good cards than you would get in an English box. The whole "holo in every pack" and "3 Lv X's in each box"...there is just no competition between buying English or Japanese boxes right there. However, there are some cons to getting a Japanese box:

    ~Not as conviniently available
~You must have translations in tourneys
    ~Not as many cards overall
~ English and Japanese sets are not the same

True, these factors are a problem, but there is still not much of a competition between the two boxes for me. I just thought that this was interesting information and that others that don't know about it should. Sorry if any of the info is's just based on what I've heard. Thanks for reading!
