Although it'd probably be best to have a no ex clause.
 
Is there a side event planned for non-canadian players? It would be nice to have something to attend when canadian nationals are only 2 hours drive away...
We had something like that in germany this year (I was not there, but i know they had this ^^)
 
That is very disappointing, why does prize support keep cutting for us every year? I mean just because worlds is in Canada does not mean we can't get a top 2 paid trip. I know it's probably not their attention, I just don't get why. Very disappointed with TPCI.
 
MiniWade, up until this point, Worlds has been in the US every year, but there have been paid trips for US nationals competitors. So I don't think that is the logic, especially when you consider the distance between Ontario (where nationals is) and Vancouver . . .

But yes, this is really disappointing. Attendance keeps increasing as well.

We're only getting one paid trip this year...considering they cut scholarships last year for VGC and cut VGC this year, this is rather disappointing.

Just wanted to correct you and say that scholarships have unfortunately never been offered for VGC at Nationals. Last year was the first year they were offered at Worlds (1st place went from trip valued at $5000 to $3500 scholarship instead, 2nd place went from zilch to $1500 scholarship).

In any case, incredibly disappointing to see that Canadian Nationals has seen such a decrease in prize support. $600 flight + $1400ish in hotel =/
 
You misunderstood, I meant to say that they cut scholarships from the TCG in order to budget for the VGC, and now they've cut that, AND the second place travel award with nothing to show for it.

We still get a travel award for first place.
