Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Create a Card Contest: Two Types, Two Cards

dkates

New Member
For this contest, choose any Pokemon from R/B/Y through Ru/Sa (EXCEPT Jirachi or Deoxys) whose two different Game Boy types are also different types in the card game. Then, make two cards of that Pokemon -- one for each of its possible TCG types. For example, you could choose Jynx, in which case you would make one (P) Jynx and one (W) Jynx. Each card will be graded by the following rubric, and the two scores averaged together for your final score.

  • Type: 5 points. Did you choose one of that Pokemon's possible types? Also, do the card's abilities match the type you chose?
  • HP: 5 points. Is it balanced, and does it make sense for that Pokemon?
  • Weakness/Resistance: 10 points. Do they make sense based on not only the Pokemon, but also the type you chose?
  • Retreat Cost: 5 points. Does it make sense for that Pokemon, and is it balanced?
  • Picture: 5 points. Can I tell what you're describing? Is it vivid enough? Does it make sense?
  • Abilities: 30 points. You may have 1 attack, 2 attacks, a Pokemon Power (make it a Poke-Body or Poke-Power) only, or a Pokemon Power (again, make it a Poke-Body or Poke-Power) and an attack. If there are two abilities, each will be worth 15 points. I will grade based on how it fits with the Pokemon and the type, how balanced it is in general, and how well the cost fits the damage and effects.
  • Total possible score: 60 points.
Leaving out a section will result in a score of 0 for that section. One entry per person. Contest is scheduled to last until Sunday, November 16th. I will judge each entry as soon as I see it (or as soon after seeing it as I can), and announce final standings on the 16th or 17th.

Can it be dual-typed Pokemon that haven't had a second type in the TCG? Swampert (water/ground) and Quagsire (water/ground), for example?

Celebi

Weakness: :fire:
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: none

(Picture is of Celebi (background) battling a Tyranitar (foreground) in a trainer battle. Celebi is singing, shown by the musical notes in the air, while the Tyranitar is in full bloom, with leaves and flowers all over it's back.)

Poké-POWER: Perish Song:-
At any time during your turn (before you attack), if there are any Perish counters on Celebi, put another Perish counter on Celebi.
If there are no Perish counters on Celebi, and Celebi is not affected by any Special Conditions, you may put a Perish counter on Celebi and end your turn (you may not attack).
When there are 3 Perish counters on Celebi, all active pokemon (both yours and your opponents) are knocked out. Then remove all Perish counters from Celebi.

Leech Seed: (G) 10
If there are any damage counters on Celebi, move one of them from Celebi onto the Defending Pokémon.

Weakness: :psychic:
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: :colorless
(Promo)

(Picture is of Celebi sitting in a tree, holding a piece of fruit. There is a Scyther at the bottom of the tree, which is being blown back by a shockwave that is coming from Celebi.)

Poké-POWER: Memories of Sammy
Once during your turn, you may search your deck for a card with Professor Oak in it's name and put it into your hand. This power cannot be used if Celebi is affected by any Special Conditions.

Psyblast: (P)(P)(C) 30
If the defending pokemon has not been knocked out by this attack, flip a coin. If heads, your opponent returns the defending pokemon and any basic energy cards attached to that pokemon to their hand. (If heads, you do not draw any prizes.)

************************************************

As you've probably guessed, I had a bit of trouble finding something new for Celebi, without making it too different from the stereotype Celebi, but since Skarmory was already being done by someone else, and Girafarig was going to be too difficult to do without using Agility (again!), I decided to stick with the Celebi.
With the Grass version, I wanted to experiment with some of the more complex attacks that it can learn, ie- Perish Song and Leech Seed, but decided Perish Song would work better as a PokéPower instead of an attack, so I tried to use the NeoGenesis Elekid's PlayfulPunch as a template.
The Psychic Celebi is more based upon the Celebi from the 4th Pokémon Movie, with Psyblast based upon the attack that Celebi uses against Ash after Ash climbs up a grassy mound to see why Celebi seems unwell.

Of course, I can't ask for suggestions and comments, as this is a competition after all, but after the results have been announced, I would like to find out what people thought of these two Celebi's.

Best of luck to each of you in this contest!

{Edit:- I've removed TimeTravel and FutureSight from the Celebi's cutting it back to one power and one attack each. Thanks, dkates. It was just lucky that I happened to get online today, or I'd not have seen your message.}
