New to the 'gym

Hey, I have read the rules and seem to be a bit confused :confused: If I am interested in selling part of my collection, how might I go about getting 20 verifiable references if I do not have permission to participate in transactions to begin with? Perhaps I am confused... Would it be possible to allow new users to post in the Sales section and sell to Verified, older users if it was a requirement that the new user sent their card(s)/payment first? Thanks again. :smile:

I sent you a pm to clarify but will post here to. We have eliminated everyone from being able to sell as in the past to many new people come on here and try sell their stuff and make people send first and they end up disappearing with people's money. So now you must be a member for one year form the date you joined and have 20 verifiable refs ,by that 20 members must also have you on their refs list,

So you best bet is to either start trading/buying and build your refs up over the next year .

Too time consuming in my opinion :^P I'm a new member and all but I'm just a guy that has a really really rare error card but I can't find a simple quick way to just sell off the dang thing (and no I'm not doing eBay). I understand the safety behind it and all but I think there could be at least a less cumbersome and time consuming way to go about business here in the forum.
 
You can go to the Good/Bad traders thread, and up near the top there's a feature that you can click on that's titled, "Search This Thread." When you click on the link it will open up a box where you can input your name. Hit enter when you name is in the box, and a page will come up with the amount of hits on the name you suggested. Most likely the number represents all the ones who have listed you as a ref. However sometimes people don't spell your name correctly, so you might want to contact all the people you put down as a ref, and remind them that you traded, and ask them politely to spell your user name properly if possible. It may take a while, but well worth it.
 
Ive been a member since 05' but ive never traded, i never knew this part of the gym exsisted and frankly even if i did i woulda been skeptical of sending and reciving or should i say deciving lol. anywho i do want to get alot more involved with the gym, including starting auctions soon. im making many trades with members. so if i get 20+ refs i can apply and pending on your guys decision i can start auctioning?? or would i have to have the refs for a year, cuz that would whomp ... LMK thanks guys
 
Nope, you just have to be a member for a year. You've past that requirement, so now you just need to concentrate on getting the 20 refs or equivalent.
 
If you have 20 verifiable unique refs, then I don't think they'd have a problem with that. However, from your refs post ... I don't think so.
 
Don't be silly. You've only been a member here since Sept 06. That puts you as a member for one full year - unless of course you were here earlier under a different name and got banned! LOL. Hey - I'm sure Mike and Brian would be happy to put you on as a seller if you had 20 refs. Check out the rules. Otherwise, like I said, don't be silly.
 
I will be honest I dont think I would ever sell, but lets say I have 10 Feature Articles on the Gym, would that make me a verified seller?

Why would you ever be allowed to sell, just because you wrote some stuff?
IMO, it doesn't make you (by you, I mean people, not YOU) more trustable.

Actually again you are giving false information, Like I said before leave the questions like this to the staff. If you contribute to the site we count that towards your refs count.

Can someone add me to the list so I can post some sales or auctions?

I am sure some vets knew of my references on PTCO many ages ago and was once a member of GAB which I dont even know if it exist anymore.

Also have put many pics up as well.

Bullet-Below is what you need to do to become a verified seller. Do this and then give us time to check it out to make sure you qualify. And only refs and such from this site count towards becoming a verified seller

8) To request to become a verified seller you must do the following:

- Go to your "UserCP" located at the top left corner of the page and click , In the left "control panel" scroll down to Miscellaneous and click on the "Group Memberships".

- For reason put "Verified seller request" or something along those lines.

- Submit and wait for a mod of the forum to accept or deny you request once they see if you qualify.

- Once you are accepted as a verified seller, you can then place threads on this sub-forum to sell.

Unfortunately references from PTCO do not count here towards you being able to sell. I have denied you permission to sell until you can either have 20 verifiable refs or contribute to the gym enough for us to allow you to sell. Until then I am sorry but you can not be a verified seller. I mean if I could use my 223 unique references from ptco I had it would be great but unfortunately they don't.

You can have all the refs you want in your profile but they don't count. You need to post your refs in the refs forum and the people you have traded with need to have you in theirs. I did a search in the refs forum and only found one person that has you in their refs thread and that was Havoc.
