State Championships are starting this weekend world wide!

While you are getting ready by play-testing your secret deck or old standby, grab a couple items to take with you to your event!

Card-Dex Pages

With Power Keepers and other modified sets some cards have been reprinted with updated text. According to the February 9th update of the Tournament Rules [pdf], section 14.1.5, some of those cards are different enough to require you to have a reference copy of the latest text outside your deck. If you don't have the Most Recently Printed (MRP) version of the card for a reference, you can use printouts of the unaltered pages of the Card-Dex for the latest text. A handy list of all the modified-format legal cards, marked with the ones that need an MRP or Card-Dex reference can be found in Pokepop's article on the front page of the 'Gym. Thanks to all the Gym members who helped make that list!

Compendium EX

Grab a copy of all the rulings for the game with the Compendium EX! You can print the entire Compendium html version, or bring it with you on a computer or PDA or smartphone that will store the HTML or run the Acrobat/PDF or iSilo versions. For the latter two, you can get free versions of the Acrobat Reader (www.acrobat.com) or iSilo (www.isilo.com) that will make your copy searchable. iSilo is the fastest of these methods on most PDAs or smartphones. Something to browse through when you're bored on that long trip to the big tourney... unless you're the driver!

Pokemon Organized Play has an amazing tournament season. State Championships take competition up a notch. Enjoy the battles and seeing your friends at these bigger events!

May the rulings be with you!
