Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Fire Truk or GG?

I sure would like to hear from anyone that has won a few city championships with playing the two decks. David won two with GG and one with Mag. He played them against different competition so he didn't get a real feel of which one went better for him. But it seemed the GG games went faster and even had more bench out wins. He liked the set up of the mag.

No. Just no. Feraligatr is bad with Delcatty/Magneton.

This is off topic but I must know what else you could posibly use thats better?

On topic, I stand by that with an evenly matched Magmortar and G&G with even luck, Magmortar wins.

It's quite simple, G&G while stronge in the start, loses speed and power as the battle goes on, while Magmortar gains power and eventually just over comes.

Darthpika Complaining is free. does that make u a crybaby but anyways i talked to my but gardilade seems to be the better option towards winning without any skill what so ever. But every magmortar knows it takes skill to play Like knowing when to attach to use magmortars body or when to attach to a bench mag. Or when to go aggro or when to patiently let it build it self up. Or what techs fits that tourney's match-ups or what starter should be used everyting goes into account on a good gardy build.

gallade is better than t2 magmortar. gallade is not as good as magmortar, though. i mean the good one with typhlosion and delcatty.

agreed. Fire TRUK is a fairly straight forward deck to play while G&G has a lot more options, thus requiring more skills.

yea, you either ohko with gallade or psychic lock... SO HARD TO PLAY.

last time I read, there are four viable attacks in G&G, you missed two. Just because you can OHKO with Psychic Cut doesn't mean you do it. I'm sure you've played the deck before (at least test it), come on, it's got more strategy involved than Mag/Typh/Delcatty

i guess so. bring down is REALLY easy to play around, especially with magmortar, so i don't really consider it a viable attack. gallade's first attack is also very seldom used, so i wouldn't really count that as a viable attack either. magmortar has 5 VERY viable attacks. both of magmortar's, the lv x's, upstream, and typhlosion's attack will all win you games in different ways. for example, there is usually a big decision every game whether you want to hit for big damage or do 40-20-20 first. you have to really check your opponents energy in play and hp remaining before you decide your attack. it can sometimes cost or win you the game. i think gallade decks can be complicated at times, but not any more than magmortar.

Making simplifying statements about these two decks as to how hard and or easy they are to play shows a lack of respect for the deck you choose not to play. Those that play G&G do so because they believe it is the better deck, the same is true for the various Magmortar decks out there (Delcatty/Typlosion seeming to be the most viable variant). I've played and enjoy playing both, and I'm torn as to which I feel is better. By better, I mean better for me. Each player will have their own playstyle, finding the deck that compliments that playstyle is the real choice.

Yes, I know what it does, but in that point of the battle most likly your opponent will have evolved most or all of their pkmn. BTW once the Gardy lv. x is gone then what?

Gee, if only we had a card that could shuffle pokemon into your deck, and a pokemon who could use your opponents supporters to get them back out ASAP....

I agree with this stament 100%. When will people see that both of the decks are just as equal and they have 2 different play stiles that fit different people.

ive been playing magmortar for a while and i agree 110% with rambo. magmortar takes a lot of skill

o and rambo you forgot that sometimes they have to make the hard decision with bringdown if they want to kknock out their pokemon or their opponents

As has been said, the discussion needs to be between Mag/Catty/Typh and Gallade/Gardevoir, not T2 Magmortar and Gallade/Gardevoir, as Mag/Catty/Typh is the deck that people argue is BDIF (which I think it is and will continue to be a force at States, especially if Glaceon and Omastar don't come out in GE).
