Groudon vs Kyogre Question

Okay, I've been wondering on this question for quite some time, and I can't solve it myself because I don't have Sapphire.

In a Battle, both trainers send out thier pokemon at the same time (first turn) One sends out Kyogre while the other sends out Groudon.

Groudon's power makes it always sunny.... while Kyogre's makes it always rain... but if they're both out at the same exact time.. what would happen? would it be always rainy? always sunny? niether at all? or would rain and sunny alternate between turns?! I'M SO CONFUSED!!!

Hm... Good question. I guess it'd be whoever showed up first. Or perhaps both of their Abilities cancel each other out.

I'll test it later.

It would be whoever goes SECOND!!! Let me put it this way. Say you have ruby and your friend has sapphire. You send out Groudon first, and drought is activated. It is sunny. Then your opponent sends out Kyogre. Kyogre's ability is activated. It is rainy. The powers don't work every turn, so it stays rainy. That is basically it.

Gah. That's what I meant to say.

It's tough being me, where my hands are typing something, but my brain isn't there to give them direction. :p

hey, have anyone ever thought of if Groudon vs Kyogre, who would most likely win? they both seemed equally strong and scary to me..

i think that Kyogre would win because groudon is the ground type and kyogre usually has ice beam or blizzard. any water move would do a significant amount of damage.

But what if the Groundon comes out second, and what if that perticular Groundon knew Solarbeam. Then the Kyrogre would be nearly O.H.K.O.ed

@_@ That's not the question. At the BEGINNING of a trainer battle, both pokemon that are first in the line up are sent out at the same exact time, so both pokemon powers would be activated at the same time...

on another note, since ground has a weakness to water, kyogre would probably win if it had higher speed and got to attack first. just because colar beam is powerful doesn't mean it'll KO kyogre in one hit. I think 2 hydro pumps, or surfs could probably take out groudon if the circumstances are right

yes, i think the question was, what would work first? they'll come out at the same time at the start of the battle, so which power will take effect first? that's what the question is... and i think kyogre would win this, unless the sun effect is on, and groudon can use solarbeam..

keep meening to try this, there stats are paralell to each other. They have the chance at getting the same all around stats, with SP AT and SP Df and AT and DF being swapped. Groudon gets higher AT/DF, Kyogre gets higher SA/SD. Dont think it matters which weather effect is active, Kyogre gets advantage. With Rain Dance going, even if Groudon goes first, Surf/Hydro Pump will almost if not completely OHKO it. Plus, Solar Beam takes 2 turns and is weakend by rain. If Sunny Day is going, Groudon can use Solar Beam, but with its weaker SA, and Kyogres higher SD, most likely, at same lvl, no OHKO, prolly 2 turns without Resting. In the mean time Kyogre shifts to Ice Beam/Blizzard which will 1-2 hit KO Groudon, so this one most likely goes to who is faster. With pretty much the exact same speed, it will be a toss up. so 75% favor of Kyogre winning based on this.

As far as which weather effect stays/goes if they both come out at same time, it will either be
A) based on who is player 1/2. Player 2's effect stays or.....
B) Based on Speed stat, then the slower of the 2's weather effect stays.

When I get them at same level, I will try this to verify just need to lvl up Kyogre more....

I wonder if it could be possible that both would be active, but only one (let's say Rain) would be shown. It would say 'it's raining', but it would be both sunny and rainy. My theory for this is based upon the 'CloudNine' Psyduck Ability. It is supposed to negate any weather effects, but I find that when it comes out (once someone has raindanced), I still get the messages about weather being on. (the only other option is that I actually had a 'Damp' Psyduck - nobody can Selfdestruct/Explode)

Havent tried Psy/Golduck yet. But I think it is supposed to negate the weather effects only on him, and maybe your Pokemon, not cancel out the weather. But I am not clear on this

Isn't Rayquaza's Ability (Air Lock) supposed to remove weather conditions?

So, that brings out another question:
Groudon VS. Rayquaza
--or--
Kyogre VS. Rayquaza
(both at the very begining of a match)
What happens?

It doesn't end weather effects, it just cancels out any influence they would have over Rayquaza.
