Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Have 3 Great Encounters In Virginia!

Midlothian on the 10th is just about at capacity (as of Saturday the 26th!!) Quite possibly the earliest capacity prerelease in Richmond Comix history.

CRAP!! I still don't know if I can go to any. I guess I'll have to try Fairfax or Woodbridge...

Chris, Fairfax is great if you want to play in a big prerelease! Game Parlor at Woodbridge is a big store, but will probably have a smaller crowd since they don't host a league. Heck, come to both if you can!

anyone who comes to the Richmond Comix prerelease will have the treat of seeing me after my wisdom teeth come out (Fri. 2 days before) and I may be a little dizzy or tired from the painkillers but I'll be there for all to see (like a 1 man circus act)

Well, I don't think I will be at Fairfax, but Woodbridge is a possibility. Problem is, I have to find someone that wants to go because I no longer have a car. Since I was at Woodbridge before, I shouldn't have a problem finding it like last time. I so want to go though! I want the Houndoom!!

So how was the event, pplz? I had to go to a soccer game, but all was not lost as we owned 8-3. Hopefully, I'll be going to Woodbridge and Rockville. Rockville for sure because no soccer game, but Saturday might be a yes.

84 people total, 12 of those were theme deckers. I was worried that attendance would be on the lower 60s, but then thought maybe mid-70s. Needless to say, Fairfax was the party - even if I barked at you, you know you had fun.

A very smooth event overall, a definite improvement over the last event. We started an hour later than we normally do and ended at the same time than we normally do. Rounds went quickly, often ending 5-8 minutes before the half hour.

totoro neglected to mention that I would be head judge today. He announced it a minute before starting the tournament -_-

Once again, totoro has arranged that my packs are without a lvX. I just can't win.

There's a lot of energy discard effects as well as effects to combat tools in this set.

I am going to be at woodbridge and Midlo so everyone can point and laugh at the guy who just got his wisdom teeth out. (hopefully I can stand up and stay awake with all the painkillers I'll be on)

oh, that reminds me, there will be no theme deck challenge for Woodbridge. For that matter, no theme deck challenge for Midlo as well.

Yes, I get to laugh at Johnny

" I am going to be at woodbridge and Midlo so everyone can point and laugh at the guy who just got his wisdom teeth out. (hopefully I can stand up and stay awake with all the painkillers I'll be on)"

I look at your username and I want to laugh already.

Props for the tourney going smoothly. Some decks can have crazy draw.

85 at a prerelease??? Totoro: "Hello, I'd like to speak to Texas... I think you've been teleported to Northern Virginia."

Seriously, I never, ever thought we'd do this! Perspective check: STATES last year was 93. Dave, Mike, and Pete, if you are reading this--this player base ROCKS!!!

*Yawn* Time for bed--I'm beat!

Yeah! Some of those new players were our friends - a Pokemom and a bunch of boys. We got them started by sending decks and cards and the works to them from Ohio. They were really looking forward to their first prerelease and I hope that they had a blast!

Hi Heatherdu,

I saw a lot of new people. I too definitely hope they had a great time.

Because so many people brought chairs this time eventhough it wasn't even asked for until the last minute, I hope to revitalize the bring-a-chair raffle next time, in which you bring a chair for tournament use and each chair you bring gets you a raffle ticket to a side raffle (seperate from totoro's).

totoro, what's Mike, Dave, and Pete going to say when you ask for supplies for 100 at the next prerelease?

Since all states are on 2 days, I wonder if States will really grow that much. Aardvarks rarely make it to Virginia, so most of the growth probably come from Rockville's league and the new Virginia leagues. Although, that may actually force players who usually go to different areas to remain concentrated on VA's event instead of skipping it for a different event.

KOM, you SAW the crowd yesterday!! 85 players x 8 packs per player. I'll barely have enough product to cover my remaining events, so no side events during prereleases, sorry :frown:

On that note, we will definitely run out of the "while supplies last" items in Woodbridge (since promos come in sets of 10, I might be ok with those, but sleeves will almost certainly run out) Since Midlo has preregistration, I've set items aside for that event. I will sub Secret Wonders sleeves once I'm out of Great Encounters sleeves, and I do apologize for this. I should be ok with product based on past Woodbridge numbers, so do come on out and play.

As promised, my last Darkrai deckbox went to Jena T in Fairfax, but (heh, heh) I DO have a Cresselia one for Woodbridge. I'll also do some shopping this week for some other pokegoodies--do you guys want action figures, plushies, or both?????

Wow, we hardly had any room to move around that store! Anyway, despite that, I had an awesome time, and can't wait 'til next Saturday! (plus I got 3 of the 4 Pachirisu I needed)

On that note, we will definitely run out of the "while supplies last" items in Woodbridge.
Yeah, if that does happen, (and assuming that I actually do make it to Woodbridge) I won't mind letting someone else have my promo. Actually, if you still have any prerelease Kirlias from SW, I wouldn't mind having one of those instead of the Porygon2.
I will sub Secret Wonders sleeves once I'm out of Great Encounters sleeves, and I do apologize for this.
Again, I'll be nice and let someone have my GE sleeves, plus I actually would like to get SW sleeves since I missed that prerelease (I know, shame on me for missing the last prerelease!)

That was an interesting set up the store had. I'd never seen that one tried before. Despite the crowds, it was great fun. Helen's idea of taking energy cards to the players worked out great. People were surprised that I still had a small supply of real psychic energy cards - in my pockets .

Yeah, I now tack "while supplies last" on all my flyers in which I say something will be given away.

@totoro: Could you get any supplies from Feraligatr?

Shadow Card and other interested folks, we are fine on product for this Saturday's Encounter in Woodbridge. Registration will begin promptly at 11:00. We have product for 53 which would make this Game Parlor's largest prerelease ever, so I think we're ok. Needless to say, the TDC won't be happening at Woodbridge or Midlothian--sorry!
We'll do what we can with promo items as I stated above.
