Help making a fire red team

I just started playing pokemon fire red and about to choose a charmander and wanted to know what would be the best team to make with charizard and if u could list natures, where to put EV's, and best attack moves i don't know if this is the place to post this I'm new to this site. thank you.

Well, if you're just going to use this team for 'in-game' play, then just about any Pokemon you catch will do well. All I can say for the early game, if you choose Charmander. Go and Catch a Pidgey and a Pikachu and raised them. Brocks highest leveled Pokemon is about 18 so make sure you can handle them. Some other advice is to have a HM slave.

Also by the time you get out of Viridian Forest, Charmander will have learn Metal Claw. That should help against his Rock types. Any Grass type you find will help too.

ok thank you i have some freinds that has the game and wanted to battle them too, and charizard can fly is there a reason to get pidgey??

I would suggest making a balanced team with this structure.

Charizard: This is what you got from Professor Oak, so use it. Gotten as Charmander.

Vileplume: You should be able to catch Oddish early in the game just before Misty's Gym. Caught as Oddish.

Lapras: Let's face it. This is the best Water-type you can find. Besides, the gyms where it would be good are really late in the game.

Raichu: This is good for dealing with Flying-types. Caught as a Pikachu.

Dugtrio: Catch one at Diglett's tunnel before you do the Vermillion City gym. It will help.

Hitmonlee: This Pokemon will be a powerhouse after you get it in the Saffron Dojo.

Well, this is the best help I can offer. If you want, you can replace Raichu with Zapdos if you don't mind using Legendaries. The only problem is that you need to get evolution stones to make Oddish and Pikachu reach their final stage. Good luck.

Stones are still sold in the department store in this version, so that isn't a problem.

Eevee into Vaporeon or Jolteon can easily replace the above outlined suggestions (I'd consider it over Raichu at any rate, though you could try for Electabuzz as a cool option I think?). Dugtrio are too frail for my liking personally, as long as you have something with Ground attacks you should be ok.

Quite frankly, you can use anything for a team, as long as it's at a high enough level. I've gone through the E4 with a Pikachu, because it was a high enough level. Just make sure you have Pokemon that can cover each others' weaknesses somewhat and you should be fine.

Thank you Pikamaster. You have proved why I used the Pokemon shown. They cover each other and always help the other when they need it.

I WOULD suggest getting an Onix over a Dugtrio, though. It has a better (slightly) movepool and Rock is a big plus, especially against Lance with his Aerodactyl/Dragonite, assuming you can live an Ice Beam or the like. :p
