How does GG beat Banette?

I used plox and beat them by using bring down on shuppets.:thumb:

Okay, so you "bring down" my Shuppet, while my active Banette ko's your active Gardy Lv. X. That seems like a brillant plan. I would like it if I was playing Banette still. I figured as Ryan said, people will be prepared for it, which may mean go at it a different way without any techs. I dont think it is a good idea for any deck to tech for just 1 deck. Your then having 1 or more spots in a deck for another deck that you may or may not face. Seems like a poor choice to me.

I've been testing my Weavile/G&G deck quite alot now. And it seems to be working pretty well. I would tech in a 1-1 or a 2-2 of Weavile in a G&G deck if your really worried about T2Bannetes. I don't believe that there are any other ways to counter T2Bannete. Just Weavile. Or, You could use Absol. 2 Pachirisus and 2 Absols along with Basic Darks or Multi Energy. If you carry Lake Boundary, and you played Absol from your hand that turn, you can do 40 + x2 Weak = 80 KO. Absol is also resistant to Bannete. They would need a Plus Power or a Stregth Charm to KO your Absol along with a Bannete in their discard pile. Your opponent may also have a Lake Boundary in play for you because Bannete can't OHKO a Gallade without Lake Boundary.

Good Luck and I hoped this helped!!! :thumb:

I don't think Banette will be a problem for regionals and certainly not for nats, too much Mag/rogue to make it worth it.

Your really gonna make that many changes to your deck for a matchup you may not face at all at regionals? Seems like a bit of a waste of space and it could seriously hurt your matchup wtih other decks.

Banette just beats GG all the time no matter what,u can add in Dusknoir it dosent need more than 4 on the bench a shuppet, claydol and lunaton and a nette atcive and it just can keep going like that. ALso cessation helps also and Blasty d is the best tech against it but still loses cuz Banette will outspeed by several turns.

On turn two, if they KO your starter, and you come back with a Gallade w/ Scramble (possibly a Tarous to get rid of a Beach), you get two easy KOs (you'll also need a DRE, however you can attatch a regular energy and it will still work). Fight with Gallade until he dies. Send up Furret and set up a Dusknoir. Dusknoir gets two easy prizes. Bring down for the last two prizes, however Bringing Down a lunatone early on would be a smart move.

thing is, a good bannette (only decent banettes wipe the floor with GG) will probably run 3 crystal beach and something like 3 castaway and 1 to 2 scott, very easy to pull a t2 crystal beach, shytin on that idea.

Idea? No, it's how you play the matchup, period. Any other way is dumb, unless other techs are used. Crystal Beach is ineffective, As the first two Beaches will be taken out by Tauros. After that, You stall so much with Furret that you don't need activated Scrambles or DRE to attack. Even ER2 AND Beach doesn't make an difference (assuming 50% of ER2's fail).

A combination of Dusknoir on my bench, a timely Warp Point, and Gardy Lvl X's Bring Down on Shuppet is what allowed me to get past Banette. It also helped that 2 of his Banette's were prized (which he knew early on). But, once he dropped Claydol and Lunatone he limited his bench enough to allow me to get past him and eventually lock in Bring Down on Shuppet with his Lunatone active (because of Warp Point).

Even with that, Banette is not something you want to face with any Gardevoir based deck. It's just not impossible.

wat the **** you playin tourus for? windstorm is the way
i could sit here and say "yeah, well, well, i got a cessation crytal so your torus cant get rid of my beach, meanin youz iz screwdz."
but, watever. if you really believe tourus can cause problems for banette, thats your oppinion, theres no real right and wrong here, just oppinions.

i playde banette for ages, and as far as gardy is conserned, the best way to beat banny, is to use that absol that your probably runnin.

There aren't any 100-0 matchups in the game, so of course there is some way to beat Banette with GG, but this is only possible if you are very lucky and get out Gallade quickly while your opponent doesn't draw very good. Dusknoir can do a good job in lategame if you survive that long, but even this does only take out 1-2 Banette.

I'm glad that Gardy still has a deck it's weak to... if it wasn't the case that the matchup to Banette is that bad, G&G / Plox would be even more overpowered, since it has something about 50-50 to Mag and Garchomp (to Garchomp even better if BF and Dusknoir are teched) and positive matchups to almost any other deck except for some rogues.

The only problem for Banette is that it loses to Mag most of the times.

Banette doesn't normally run CC. It would hurt itself too much, no Claydol + no Lunatone = terrible draws. Tauros can be searched by Celio, Roseanne's, Mentor, any other Basis or general pokemon search cards. Windstorm is tossed from the hand by Wager. You'd need luck to get it back.

mate you aint seen my banette, 40 trainers! trust me, i got the draw sorted perfectly with 8 poke, 1 nrd, 40 trnrs.

Including both states and regionals, and including all top cut games. I am 8-0 vs. GG/Plox, so, if you know what your doing you are going to be in good shape. Bad starts can make it very hard for Banette, because quickness does matter.
