So, was anyone else shocked by the fact that I Am Legend turned out to be a zombie flick?

Also, does anyone have an idea as to why Will's character was spreading water around everywhere he went?

The disease mutated the remaining survivors, they were not zombies, they just ran out of food and started on humans, and he was spreading vinegar around the door to throw off his scent

But, why would he pour vinegar on a sheet when he tried to capture one of them?

was it vineger? i though it was some potions he ended up making an just cheap in bottles

i for one fell alseep, honestly an woke up at some point were there was allot of noise ( i think when he first cought one of the mutants)

5 minutes into the film, you could already tell what was going to happen, it was basically "I-robots" all over again...

    Lame aspects:
Overreliance on CGI- When this is done too much I feel like it takes you out of the movie. I mean, c'mon, did they need to use a computer to generate the image of a woman on a hospital bed? Give me a break...

Been done- Ya, it was a zombie movie. Even if they weren't "zombies", the story has been done into the ground. "It was a medicine that went wrong!" =/

    Cool aspects:
Edge of your seat action! I didn't feel too bad about dropping $8.50.

    Will Smith shirtless- :)

    ^Lol, no..comment....
I have not seen it but I'm dying to. It can't be a zombie movie, because all zombie movies these days are always rated R, and if I recall, this movie was rated PG-13 right? Zombies are disfigured, slow walking creatures who hunger for brainz or humans and they're intrals. I have not seen the movie, but is that what these creatures were?

    I hated that stupid dog.

And the main thing I learned from that movie is to not trust our cure for cancer.

  10. No, they were not like that at all, they were just like humanoid animals that actually run really fast and are very agile, unlike a zombie. And they just wanted food, not brains/entrails

The first 30 minutes of the movie were great but when the action started it wasn't that good. It really reminded me of Resident evil. Will Smith was great in this part also and the deserted New York just looked very cool but I think the ending was kinda doof. I also think that the director of this movie should go back to direct commercials and music videos as he ruined some parts of the movie. It was worth of looking but only because of Will Smith.

i thought it was pretty good. i liked it.

if i was him i would have done some stuff different and cooler. like when he goes to kill himself i would have put more crap on ma car like iron plates or something so i could kill more of them.
i would have learned to fly a jet to, and gone and blown stuff up.
    that would have been awesome.

  13. I am fairly certain they have flight school for a reason... You know.. maybe cause its a bit hard to fly a plane, not to mention a jet...

That said he would have killed himself before he even shot anything seeing as there were lots of tall building to run into and then jets were faced right for them.

In case you also didn't know they have little things on the jet carriers they attach to the bottom of jets to fling them forward quickly so they can launch, and it takes a person up in the control room to operate that.

im a pilot, been flying for years, flying isnt that hard, the hardest part about it is learning the terms an there is so many rules in the sky..

Well, if you don't compare it to the book (which IS great) and instead compare this to, say, Omega Man (which it is essentially a remake), then I find it to be a decent movie. :thumb:

If you really want to compare the book to the movie, then it completely sucks, as about the only thing they have in common is the name of the protagonist (Robert Neville). The book's plot, setting, and overall structure is completely different from the movie, and the movie does not do the book any justice. :nonono:

    Sounds like a total Oh.Em.Gee. moment!

  18. Yeah, but that still doesn't explain how he was gonna get it off the ground without hitting a build and it is his FIRST FLIGHT hes a doctor like guy so he prolly know anything about flying a jet and he has no one to tell him ANYTHING and its his first flight, maybe if he had a 2nd or 3rd try, but not just right away.

And remember, these jets are 3 years old and been sitting idley plus who says they were even fueled?

It is completely reasonable that he did not fly a jet around shooting zombie-like creatures and dropping bombs the jet probably didn't even have.

And if he got the jet running and knew how to fly it and didn't die getting into the air, i would have probably tried flying away to see if places other than new york were zombied.

dude, i didnt say anything like it had to be those jets, new yorks got an airport.
and im sure that if he read enough books and started out small and progressed to bigger plane then finaly a jet, he could do it. he would have plenty of time to do so.

that is a good question, how did they get on the island?
