Wow that one is good too.
It's going to be difficult next year to beat this years April foor Day/ 1 April/ April's Fish.

Huh, have we had a Pokemon April Fools joke spread beyond message boards like this before? If not this is history in the making! Isn't April Fools day great? Then again I saw the news here first so I didn't have a near death experience today. ;)

AHhhhh Haaa Haaa

well my wife and I created an e-mail to my son telling him he was chosen at random from a list of players who wrere very active in POP . It stated he was invited to Worlds.
He ran up to his room and wrote it in his diary. He was very very excited.

Let him go for about 20 min till I started to feel bad about breaking his 9 year old heart.

He is still VERY angry about it

<grin>

Shame on you for doing that to your kid :(

Well, it looks like Zeo changed Thursday's news story out of embarrasment and din't say they did. How funny.

It never happened!

The page has been removed (surprise, surprise), posts on the forums at pojo and zeo have been removed - it's a cover-up!!! :p

As you know on Pokemon.com and Pokemon-tcg.com, they have announce that these press releases are fake and that you shouldn't worry that there are many wonderful sets along with EX: Hidden Legends along the way. What I think is funny about all of this is that how Pokemon.com staff claimed they got a good laugh out of this. But do you think they really did? I am surprised pojo.com and zeo is still online.

They did to a fake press release using their layout, so there is a chance they could get in trouble. I remember one time a website got suid for using Pokemon.com's old left menu buttons. However, it was April Fool's, so maybe they will go easy on them and they just got a warning.

I seriously can't imangine NoA/ TPC, or whomever going after the individuals/sites involved with this little prank... I mean, heck, aside from the fact it'd be stupid to alienate such an active portion of the fanbase, it'd be plain idiocy to get the kind of press that would come out of this...

I can see the headlines now... "Nintendo Can't Take Joke"

I could see a stern warning, maybe... a slap on the wrists at best... but anything more is just silly and would be bad for NoA...

Anyway, legally speaking, Parody is fair play.
This clearly falls into that category.

April Fools (that misfired) :D

I recieved a few emails praising me for the prank, but Pokemon USA and Nintendo wasnt laughing. They were flooded with negative emails and phone calls. That was never the intent... and it seemed to warrent two announcements on Pokemon.com and Pokemon-TCG.com. So we ended up removing the page, after Nintendo of America told us to cease.

I was the main jokester, I came with the plan and asked Ech for some editing/tech support. It was simply too realistic! Congrats to SD Pokemom who discovered that most was stolen from the two Wizards of the Coast press releases regarding the end of their Pokemon TCG license in 2003. Apologies to Chuck Hubner's secretary for that. Also the domain redirect "URL@IPdirectory" was discovered by a few who are web savvy. Congrats to all who kept on their toes!

Pojo.com made a public apology and the team of mostly volunteers hopes that Nintendo of America will crack a smile. In the long run, we've been supporting their announcements and products, this is no difference. There's no such thing as bad publicity!

Though I do not think that I'll be pulling any more pranks against a major million dollar corporation, as was expressed by NOA Legal.
