I've been waiting far too long for Grass to be able to take the field again, and Shaymin LX makes that extremely possible.

Torterra Level X sitting at 200 HP's and some pretty hefty damage, Bellossom swarms at 140 HP's and Kingdra resistance, Beedrill is even more annoying than ever with Shaymin.

Grass will be making a comeback, ladies and gents.

You use the word broken too freely

Raichu Lv.X only gets to attack twice in 1 turn once. As well as that, to successfully use voltage shoot twice you would have to have 5 energy attached.

T-tar wouldn't hit everything for 80, because Darkrai's body only adds to damage to the active. And 5 energy is a lot of energy even with weavile powering him up.

Regigas needs 3 energy to attack at the least, and getting all those regis out won't be easy. It can easily be countered.

I do agree that gengar is incredible though, the swarm of gengar I am sure will win the game.

I like sally but I wish it didn't ask for two types of energy.

BROKEN means that if you use it you are guaranteed the win, and there has only been 2 cards of hat caliber. Sneasil and Slowking (at there time) were the 2.

IMO lumineon is the best card in the set.

However Bronzong makes Flood (Bastoise/Fortress) so much more playable. With it and smeargle, you could get 14+ energy in hand as quick as T5.

IMO the new set lives up to my high expectations, 9.5/10 for the set
Killing a claydol and then blasting for 90+ sounds pretty great to me. Espically with the recharge chu from MT.
T-tar is basically a KO machine on the active or a KO machine down the line with omastar.
Felicities away two energy, drop 3 regis, sac another poke, and attach. t2 100. Obviously not very realistic but I can see reg being played often.
Gengar is beastily.
Sally is pretty great but the discards...yeah.
I'm surprized that NOBODY has mentioned driftblom or whatever the ballon guy is. Getting two basics and dropping an energy on both of them is too good to overlook (and abusing candy turn after turn is good too). There are so many good cards, and I actually expect gatr to make a comeback. It's already pointing that way for BRs and bronzong definately pushes it down the road to victory even more.

Ya, rai, t-tar, and regigigas are all great. but AnimeDDR said that they were broken. The point I am pointing out is that they can be beat.

I like drifblim too, but I just feel like he has something missing.

I think with all of the new awesome cads coming out in the next 6 months there won't be a format like the format this year for a long time.

Steelix is like the Rebirth of Marowak d, from DS. Exert Strength is just like Energy Bone! I will DEFANITELY use this card when it comes out! AWESOME in Damage Spread decks!!!
As you all said, Sableye is SO Great!

This Format is going to be AWESOME and have A LOT of options for Arches or Rogues, which is Great for me!!!

This set will certainly make Pokemon a more enjoyable game, and force players to be more creative.

That new Machamp is pretty potent. It's first attack knocks-out Basics, no frills, for one F. That's scary. Hurricane Punch, combined with the effect of it's Lv. X's attack, reminds me of the good old Giovanni's Machamp, with the Power: Fortitude. Now if only they would reprint Focus Band. :p

Take a look at Rage: if used by a Machamp Lv. X with 140 damage, it peaks an ridiculously and unnecessarily high 260 damage. Combined with No Guard, it's first attack does 100 for one F Energy, and it auto-KO's any unevolved Pokemon, (including stage 1-2 Pokemon Restored by Garchomp Lv. X, not to mention Mewtwo Lv.X, Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit Lv. X, Shaymin Lv.X, Heatran Lv.X, Darkrai Lv. X, Cresselia Lv. X, Palkia and Dialga Lv. X ). Sigh... just when you thought it was safe for Electric Types.

Maybe the new Gengar can help them out. As I'm sure many have noticed, it combo's nicely with the DP Gengar. First spread damage with this guy, score a few KO's with Shadow Dance, and bring him back out; if your opponent KO's it, it just might KO their Active. It's also great Turn 2, wreaking havoc with Poltergeist while your opponent's hand is still full of Supporters (which, I'm sure, will see an increase in use.) Couple that with the ability to slap a benched Poke with a Power with 60 for just P? Count me in. After this set comes out, you can forget about abusing Poke-Powers for setup. Sorry Claydol(GE)/Gardie(SW). :(

To top that, both of Gengar's pre-evolutions work great with it. After this set is released, pretend DP Gastly and Haunter don't exist. The new Gastly's first (free) attack prevents your opponent from playing any Trainer Cards. That can mean no Rare Candies for your opponent, from T1-2 on, slowing their set-up down considerably. At the same time, it maximizes the damage of Poltergeist. And, though I'd rather follow up Gastly's attack with a Rare Candy to Gengar then Poltergeist, Haunter's second attack isn't bad either, forcing your opponent to pick up discarded Trainers, Supporters, and Stadiums, adding a maximum of 60 to Poltergeist (your opponent will play at least one of 'em.) Simply put, Gengar is amazing.

Heatran Lv. X might help Magmortar cope with the new Kingdra that's coming. Torrid Wave + Heatran's Body guarantee's 30 between turns on your opponent's active, and it's power negates the discard of Flame Bluster, giving Magmortar another leg up on the Magnezone Lv. X that is expected to shake up the format once LA is released.

There are very few bad cards in this set, if any. Sure, I'd rather play DP Steelix over this one (unless an Unown is released that treats all tails flipped during your turn as heads), but other than that, this set is a huge improvement to the game. And who knows, if a double energy card is re-released (I mean, who wouldn't love to have DCE back >:D), Charizard may even become playable (for old time's sake... although he wasn't very playable then either.)

Side-note: I'm not exactly current with the Pokemon handheld games, but to my understanding, Skorupi is a poison type... right? It befuddles me that in this set, Skorupi a Grass-type. Why, if Poison types are now Psychic? Anyone know?

I didn't even take the time to notice that. You're definitely right; Steelix is usable, and that damage will add up quickly. The Unown wouldn't hurt though. >:D

Sableye will be the best starter ever printed. Nix that: Cleffa already has that title. But he's a close second. I mean, it can use any supporter from your deck on the first turn. It's like a Super-Stantler. It's attack isn't too bad either; a late game 40 +10 to a heavily damage Poke can be enough to take it out..

Skorupi is Poison/Bug. Bug is Grass.
Gengar looks like a lot of fun to play. So does Steelix. I feel bad for Luxray DP, a stage 1 having a better version of the same power is harsh.

^Skorupi is Bug/Poison, and it turns into Dark/Poison when it evolves to Drapion.

I don't know why you're bad-mouthing Steelix, though. It's one of the better cards in the set. Marowak d with 130 HP seems really good. It's much better than Rapidash, Mismagius, Roserade or Staraptor.

Trust me, we don't want DCE. It would make GG better than it is right now.

That regular machamp....wow. Being able to OHKO the pixie level x cards. Or any other basic for that matter.

Thanks for the enlightenment.

Didn't pay much attention to the first attack when I first made my post. You're quite right, and I later acknowledged mca3 who pointed out that fact.

I was joking about the DCE. It's the only truly broken Energy card ever printed. No side effects whatsoever. GG+DCE would make a lot of people quit.

Thanks.

That does hurt. Hug a DP Luxray today.

LA Luxray looks interesting, though.

Now, is this set split in two parts too like the last set? If so, which parts will contain what cards?

Carnivine.dec.

Grass just got overpowar. Shaymin, Vespiquen (even a 1/1 line can let you do like +30 a turn when you're ahead). Tangrowth/sceptile lol. Not to mention the obvious comboing with torterra.

Regigigas is also really cool. A 150hp basic is nothing to joke about with no sonic blade everywhere. Regigigas/torterrible.

^Machamp says "regigigas is going down!"

I can't believe all the cool stuff in this set. My head is overflowing with new deck ideas and card combos.

Raichu Lv.X can be quite a danger if played right. Being able to snipe for 80 twice in a turn is amazing. The only problem is it's hard to pull off, maybe como it with MT Raichu.

Yeah, the Regigiggas is awesome, but like I said, Machamp will pwn him. No basic is safe.

Lumineon's power reminds me of the Lt. Surge Trainer from Gym Hereos. I lused to love using that card and now it's a power, YES! If only Cradaunt ex was still playable with Splash Back.

T-tar got a nice upgrade. Spinning Tail is great for speading damage and could possibly, but not likely, team up with Gardy Lv.X.

The Shiny Pokemon are pretty awesome. They all have nice attacks and amazing artwork. I wonder what they'll do with Stage 1 and Stage 2 Shinies. Can't wait to see how this set will effect our metagame when it comes out.

Grrrrr...you need to read the translation of the card before you judge it. I think Raichu could be pretty cool, but I've tried Raichu combos, and they haven't been all to good. I guess the Bronzong could do some good work with it, and Electivire SW too. Then again, it is so effortlessly KOed by Machamp. Machamp breathes on Raichu and it is KOed. I don't think any of the cards are broken, but I am scared something somewhere ended up being too good and will become another dominant archetype of the entire format like Gardellade. I hope it all ends well.

Wow, this set actually makes this game good again. :x

Yeah, seriously. With this set coming out, options grow to a rather large size. I think this year will be a very interesting year, could end up being just like the 06-07 year when 20 different decks were viable. Oh boy...that should be fun.

...until you slap an Unown G onto it :p

Will there be any events during the time in which this set will be the newest set? Or do the events (cities, battle roads) start after the NEXT set is released?
