Dear Professors,

Please find attached the latest copy of the Judge Manual for Pokemon Judges. This document was commissioned by OP in March 2008 as a challenge to the PTOs to come up with a document that would help in training judges to use more consistent methods and achieve more consistent results in judging at sanctioned and premiere events.

The document has been boiled down from a lot of PTO wisdom with contributions by the Professors on the POP forums. Judge manual v8 was given a soft launch at 2009 U.S. Nationals, and a formal introduction as a resource for your 2009-2010 judge training programs at the mandatory judge training seminar at Worlds 09.

Your comments on and contributions to the skills presented in the manual are solicited in this thread and in the stickied thread in the OP professor forums.

[Note: v9 updated with 2010 info from the US Nationals & Worlds events and judge trainings]

Also, we have a copy of the matching judge evals that were used at Worlds. We should have a way for you to submit them shortly, for now, try them out and give feedback here.

The judge manual has been updated from v8 to v9. Change history at the end of the manual. If you've not seen it, take a look at the table of contents and see if it doesn't draw you in.

Thanks for making this resource available to the community. It is great to have this for new and advanced Judges to learn from.

I just attempted to open this document and I got a pop up stating, "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

Thanks for the heads up. I tested it again and its OK for me. What operating system and version of Adobe are you using? Anyone else having this issue and what are your versions?

Is there the latest version out yet? As I would like to train a good friend of mine to be the main judge, as that would allow the current one to be able to play again. Right now, that said friend of mine is the assistant to the TO/head scorerunner and lookout person. She wants to move onto the next level involve rulings n such
